PBSP Elects New Trustees from IBM Philippines and Vivant, Honors Outgoing Board Leaders

PBSP Welcomes New Trustees from IBM and Vivant Corporation 

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) has announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees, strengthening its leadership and strategic direction in social development and corporate sustainability.

The organization welcomes Leo L. Capinpin, Country General Manager and Technology Leader of IBM Philippines, and Emil Andre M. Garcia, President of Vivant Corporation, as its newest board members.

Incoming Board Leadership

  • Leo L. Capinpin (IBM Philippines): Brings over 25 years of IT and corporate strategy experience. IBM Philippines, a founding member of PBSP, continues to collaborate on national education and workforce development programs.

  • Emil Andre M. Garcia (Vivant Corporation): Represents Visayas-based member companies and assumes the chairmanship of the Visayas Regional Committee. Vivant Corporation has been a PBSP partner since 2009, leading key reforestation initiatives in Cebu.

Honoring Years of Board Service

PBSP also recognized outgoing trustees for their longstanding contributions to corporate citizenship and governance:

  • Jose Antonio “Tonio” Y. Aboitiz: Concludes 18 years of board service representing Davao Light and Power Company, Inc. During his tenure, he chaired both the Visayas Regional and Audit and Risk Management Committees, supported nationwide disaster relief efforts, and spearheaded the Olango Challenge open-water fundraising swim.

  • Aileen Judan-Jiao: Recognized for her service as IBM Philippines' board representative from 2018 to 2026. She previously chaired the Human Resources and Retirement Committee and championed youth technology education through programs like IBM SkillsBuild and P-TECH.
