Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta AI Glasses Launch in the Philippines: Prices

The AI glasses category is officially landing in the Philippines. EssilorLuxottica and Meta are launching Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta locally on November 10, and here's a detail that makes this launch extra interesting: Meta AI will be available in Tagalog.

What AI glasses actually do
If you haven't tried them, these look like regular sunglasses or eyeglasses but come with a built-in camera, open-ear speakers and Meta AI. Without reaching for your phone, you can:
  • Ask questions about what you're looking at
  • Listen to music and podcasts
  • Take calls and send messages
  • Translate conversations live
  • Capture photos and videos from your point of view
Having Meta AI understand Tagalog could make these much more natural to use for Filipinos.

The Ray-Ban Meta lineup
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) comes in three classic frames: Wayfarer, Aviator and Zena. For prescription wearers, there are the optical-first Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Scriber Optics (Gen 2). Lens options include Transitions, Polarized and Blue Light Filter, with prescription lenses available.

Oakley Meta for athletes
Oakley Meta is the sportier side of the family, in two styles:
  • Oakley Meta HSTN: a 3K Ultra HD camera, open-ear speakers and IPX4 water resistance, with select pairs using Oakley PRIZM lenses.
  • Oakley Meta Vanguard: built for running, cycling and training, with a 12MP ultra-wide camera (122° field of view), wind noise reduction, IP67 water and dust resistance, and integration with Strava and Garmin.
The Vanguard fits with cycling helmets and hats, so it's clearly aimed at serious weekend warriors.

Prices
Suggested entry prices are:
  • Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3): ₱34,933
  • Ray-Ban Meta Optics (Gen 2): ₱36,501
  • Oakley Meta HSTN: ₱34,149
  • Oakley Meta Vanguard: ₱42,661
Where to buy
Starting November 10, Ray-Ban Meta will be available at authorized Ray-Ban dealers, including select Vision Express, SM Department Stores, Sunglass Gallery, Eye Society, Sunglass Haven and Ideal Vision Center stores. Oakley Meta will be at select Oakley stores, G-Force and Ideal Vision Center.

My take
At around ₱35,000 and up, these sit at premium-phone prices, so they're not an impulse buy. But for content creators, frequent travelers and cyclists, hands-free capture and live translation are genuinely useful. The Tagalog support is the bigger story for me, because it shows these devices are being shaped for Filipino users, not just sold to them.

Try a pair in store first. Fit and comfort matter a lot with glasses you'll wear all day.
