For many Filipinos, commuting has become more than just a daily routine, it’s one of the many expenses that families constantly have to manage. Recognizing these everyday challenges, foodpanda Philippines is expanding its community support efforts through its flagship Panda-Malasakit Project with the launch of its Libreng Sakay (free ride) program.
Designed to help ease transportation costs while making daily travel a little more convenient, the initiative reflects foodpanda’s continued commitment to supporting communities in practical and meaningful ways.
Beginning May 29, four pink foodpanda jeepneys have been serving major Metro Manila routes, providing free rides to commuters during peak hours until June 11. Open to the general public, the Libreng Sakay jeepneys cover some of the busiest routes in the metro, including SM Fairview-Cubao, Monumento-Baclaran, and Alabang-Mall of Asia.
More than simply providing transportation, the program aims to bring a little positivity to people’s daily journeys. Passengers can enjoy surprise treats and special onboard experiences, transforming ordinary rides into moments that are both enjoyable and rewarding.
The initiative also supports participating jeepney drivers by providing fuel and grocery assistance, helping ensure that the benefits extend beyond passengers and reach the hardworking individuals who keep public transportation moving.
The Libreng Sakay program forms part of the broader Panda-Malasakit Project, foodpanda’s purpose-driven campaign dedicated to delivering meaningful support to communities amid rising living costs and everyday challenges. Anchored on the spirit of shared community impact, the campaign combines on-ground activations and community-centered initiatives designed to make life a little easier where it matters most.
As foodpanda continues to grow the Panda-Malasakit Project, the company remains focused on creating programs that address real-world needs while strengthening its connection with the communities it serves. Through simple yet impactful initiatives, foodpanda hopes to bring added convenience, relief, and moments of joy to Filipinos navigating everyday life.
