Jollibee Group Reinforces Global Food Safety and Quality Standards to Support Worldwide Growth

As the world marks World Food Safety Day on June 7, the Jollibee Group reaffirmed its commitment to food safety and quality as essential pillars behind the trust and loyalty it has built with millions of customers around the world.

From everyday family meals to celebrations shared with loved ones, the company believes that great-tasting food begins with confidence and consistency. As the Jollibee Group continues to expand globally, serving millions of meals daily across more than 10,000 stores, it remains guided by one unwavering principle: food safety and quality always come first.
Behind every meal enjoyed by customers is a single, globally governed Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) framework that helps ensure the same standards are maintained across brands and markets. While implementation progresses in phases worldwide, all operations are aligned with common expectations that safeguard product integrity and preserve the familiar taste and experience consumers have come to love.

Food safety and quality are also closely monitored through leadership oversight, ensuring that growth decisions and the integration of new brands are supported by systems designed to protect consumers and strengthen franchise value over the long term.

Building Trust Through Every Meal
For the Jollibee Group, food safety goes beyond compliance, it is about preserving the trust that consumers place in the brands they choose and the confidence of franchise partners investing in the business.
“For us, spreading joy through superior taste begins with trust,” said Ernesto Tanmantiong, Global President and CEO of the Jollibee Group. “That trust is built on food that is safe, consistent, and made with care. As we grow globally, we raise our standards, so every meal delivers not just great taste, but the confidence our customers expect wherever they are.”

Quality Embedded Across the Entire Journey
Rather than relying solely on final inspections, the Jollibee Group incorporates food safety and quality measures throughout the entire value chain.

Suppliers are required to comply with internationally recognized certifications such as Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Product specifications and food safety requirements are integrated from the earliest stages of development, ensuring quality attributes, regulatory compliance, and hazard controls are built into every product.

Restaurants are designed and equipped according to strict sanitary and food safety principles, while team members undergo structured training, competency assessments, and periodic certifications to maintain high standards in daily operations.

Standardized operating procedures across markets support consistent execution, while continuous monitoring systems and structured Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes help detect and address issues early.

“For me, these systems are more than just compliance; they’re about protecting what matters most,” said Wally Mateo, Global Head of Quality Management. “We have designed them to minimize risk, reduce variation, and preserve the integrity of our products. Whether we’re entering a new market or running day-to-day restaurant operations, food safety and quality are embedded in how we think, plan, and act every single day. That’s how we protect our consumers and safeguard the trust behind our brands.”
Digital Tools Supporting Global Standards
As the Jollibee Group grows its international footprint, digital tools and centralized governance play an increasingly important role in maintaining consistency across diverse markets.

The company has completed the full implementation of its quality management systems in the Philippines, establishing a benchmark for scale and execution. International markets are progressively adopting the same framework based on local regulations and operational readiness.

Through platforms such as OneQMGateway and Veeva Vault QualityOne, the company is able to monitor food safety and quality performance in real time across countries and brands. Automated validation processes improve data accuracy, reduce manual intervention, and allow teams to identify potential risks before they affect consumers.

Veeva Vault QualityOne also enables centralized monitoring of hundreds of suppliers worldwide, helping ensure certifications, product testing, and compliance requirements are consistently met.

These digital capabilities are supported by FSQ councils, regulatory surveillance, quality management audits, third-party certifications, and annual supplier qualification cycles. Together, these layers of governance help maintain alignment with global food safety standards.

As a result, the Group’s food safety systems consistently achieve 98–100% alignment with global standards, demonstrating disciplined execution and strong operational controls.
Supporting Consumers and Franchise Partners

Through globally governed standards and proven systems, the Jollibee Group continues to strengthen food safety and quality with a disciplined and deliberate approach.

For consumers, this translates into great-tasting meals they can enjoy with confidence. For franchisees, it provides a reliable operating framework that protects brand value, manages risk, and supports sustainable long-term growth.
