VinFast Launches EV Rental Program in the Philippines to Boost Affordable Green Transport

As fuel prices continue to fluctuate and sustainability becomes a growing priority, VinFast is making it easier for everyday drivers to shift gears, literally and figuratively toward a greener future.

The electric vehicle (EV) brand has officially launched a new vehicle rental program in the Philippines and Indonesia, offering ride-hailing and transport service drivers a more flexible, low-barrier way to access electric mobility. Designed with practicality in mind, the initiative introduces a rental option alongside traditional vehicle ownership, helping drivers get on the road faster without the heavy upfront investment.

Through VinFast’s authorized dealership network, drivers can now choose to rent from its purpose-built Green vehicle lineup. With competitive daily rates starting at just PHP 1,000 in the Philippines, the program allows drivers to begin earning sooner with minimal initial costs, long-term contract options, and predictable expenses, ideal for those navigating the realities of daily transport work.

For those ready to commit to ownership, VinFast also provides tailored financing solutions that align with drivers’ income streams. This approach helps ease the financial burden by lowering initial payments and offering manageable repayment terms, ultimately supporting better cash flow and faster returns.

At the heart of the program is VinFast’s Green lineup, featuring models like the Herio Green and Limo Green, vehicles engineered for high-frequency usage, energy efficiency, and everyday comfort. Whether for solo trips or larger passenger groups, these EVs are designed to meet the demands of modern urban mobility while keeping operational costs in check.

The rollout begins in major urban hubs such as Metro Manila and Greater Jakarta, with plans to expand further across both countries. Drivers will also benefit from VinFast’s growing EV ecosystem in Southeast Asia, including free charging at V-Green stations until March 2029, helping reduce operating costs even further.

According to Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Automotive Sales at VinFast, the initiative is a natural step in supporting the region’s shift toward sustainable transport. She emphasized that beyond environmental benefits, the program also aims to provide drivers with stable income opportunities and improved quality of life.

Backed by Vingroup, VinFast continues to expand its presence in the region with a comprehensive ecosystem—from vehicles to charging infrastructure. Complementary initiatives, such as the Trade Gas for Electric program and ride fare discounts in Indonesia, further reinforce its commitment to making green mobility both accessible and economically viable.

With this latest move, VinFast is not just introducing a new way to drive, it’s reshaping how Filipinos and Southeast Asians experience mobility in a more sustainable, practical, and future-ready way.
