The Big Bad Wolf Books Sale at The Filinvest Tent in Alabang is back, bringing over two million titles at huge discounts. Here’s my experience browsing through endless books, finding great deals, and taking part in a meaningful cause this BER season.
The BER months are officially here, and what better way to start the festive season than with new books to read and share? I recently dropped by the Big Bad Wolf Books Sale at The Filinvest Tent in Alabang, and it was exactly the kind of cozy, book-filled adventure I needed to kick off October. The event runs until October 13, 2025, and if you’re a book lover or even just someone looking for early holiday gifts, this is definitely worth a visit.
Walking into the tent felt like stepping into a treasure trove. Rows upon rows of books stretched out, from bestsellers and TikTok favorites to children’s stories and coffee table gems. It wasn’t overwhelming, though just exciting. There’s something about being surrounded by books that instantly puts you in a good mood, and the smell of fresh pages and coffee from nearby stalls added to that familiar bookish atmosphere.
One of the best things about Big Bad Wolf is the variety. I spotted Abby Jimenez’s The Friend Zone for only ₱340 (down from ₱800) and Kristin Hannah’s The Night Road for ₱400, which are both perfect if you’re into emotional, character-driven stories. For kids or the young at heart, there’s JJ’s Busy Day (Cocomelon) by Maria Le, discounted to just ₱440. Parents were happily stacking up these titles, clearly planning ahead for the holidays.
Nonfiction fans will also have a field day. I picked up Joy at Work by Marie Kondo and Scott Sonenshein for only ₱400, a great find if you’re looking to declutter your workspace or your mindset before the new year. I also saw The Korean Book of Happiness by Barbara J. Zitwer, a beautiful hardcover priced at ₱500, which caught my eye for its thoughtful take on mindfulness and joy. And for those into mystery and YA reads, Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ The Brothers Hawthorne was going for ₱560, a steal considering its original price.
Prices aside, what made the event special was its heart. Beyond the massive discounts and book-hunting fun, Big Bad Wolf continues its Red Readerhood Program, a meaningful initiative that allows visitors to donate books to Caritas Manila, one of the country’s leading non-profit organizations. I took a few minutes to browse their donation booth, and it was inspiring to see visitors, including families and students, picking out books to give away. It’s a small act that can make a big difference, and it reminded me that stories are meant to be shared, especially with communities that need them most.
The event also had a raffle promo, which added a bit of excitement for shoppers. Every ₱5,000 spent in a single receipt earns one entry for prizes like an IKEA bookshelf with decals, an iPad, or even a three-day getaway for two. It’s a nice little bonus, especially for those who can’t resist filling their carts (guilty as charged). Winners will be announced on October 11 at 11:45 PM, so if you’ve shopped already, don’t forget to join.
As the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale enters its final days in Alabang, I’d definitely recommend making time to visit. Admission is free, and the experience is as relaxed as it is rewarding. Whether you’re browsing solo, on a book date, or hunting for gifts with family, it’s a fun, low-pressure way to spend the weekend, and maybe rediscover your love for reading along the way.
The sale runs until October 13, 2025, at The Filinvest Tent, Alabang, open from 10 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and until midnight on weekends. If you’re planning to go, bring a tote bag (or two) and a list of titles you’ve been wanting to read, but don’t be surprised if you leave with more than you planned. After all, that’s part of the Big Bad Wolf charm.
So, before the Wolf howls goodbye, take this chance to fill your shelves and maybe even brighten someone else’s. There’s something magical about finding the right book at the right time, and right now, the timing couldn’t be better.
