Canon Marketing Philippines has officially opened registration for Canon PhotoMarathon 2026, marking the return of one of the country’s longest-running and most anticipated photography competitions. Set to take place on April 18, 2026, at the BGC Amphitheater in Taguig City, the event once again invites creators to test their skills, creativity, and storytelling under pressure.
Originally launched in Singapore in 2003, Canon PhotoMarathon has grown into a regional creative movement with editions held across Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Now celebrating its 19th year locally, the competition continues to challenge photographers and creators to produce compelling images—and now videos—within a limited time, guided by surprise themes revealed only on the day of the event.
Canon PhotoMarathon 2026 is open to professionals, students, camera club members, hybrid creators, and photography enthusiasts, and stays true to its inclusive nature by welcoming participants using any camera brand. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or a passionate hobbyist, the event offers a high-energy environment where creativity takes center stage.
A key highlight this year is the addition of a Video Category, reflecting the growing role of motion and storytelling in today’s creator landscape. Participants can now express their vision not just through still images, but also through sound, movement, and narrative.
The competition features three categories. The Main Photo Category is exclusive to Canon camera users, while the Open Photo Category and Video Category are open to creators using any camera brand. Winners can take home major prizes, including the Canon EOS R6 Mark III with RF 24–105mm f/4–7.1 IS STM for the Main Photo Category, and the Canon EOS R8 with RF 24–50mm lens for the Open Photo Category. For the Video Category, Canon users stand to win a Canon EOS R50 V, while non-Canon users can receive a Canon PowerShot V1.
Registration is done through the Canon PH Delightful app, available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. Participants simply need to create an account, head to the Events tab, and sign up for Canon PhotoMarathon 2026.
Ahead of the main event, Canon will roll out a series of photowalks, school visits, and regional tours from February to March 2026, giving creators across the country more opportunities to learn, shoot, and connect. Canon will also be present at PhotoWorld Asia 2026, happening from January 29 to February 1, offering additional activities for photography enthusiasts. All pre-event activities are free and open to digital camera users, regardless of brand.
