Acer launches its first smart ring, the FreeSense Ring, at Computex 2025. Built with a titanium alloy, it offers 24/7 biometric tracking, sleep monitoring, and AI-powered wellness insights.
At Computex 2025 in Taipei, Acer made headlines by stepping into the smart wearables space with the launch of its first-ever smart ring, the Acer FreeSense Ring. Known for its range of laptops, PCs, and tablets, Acer is now expanding into wellness-focused tech, competing directly with established names like Samsung and Oura.
The FreeSense Ring is a sleek and lightweight wearable built from titanium alloy, weighing only around 2 to 3 grams. Despite its small size, it's packed with features that make it a strong contender in the growing smart ring market. The ring continuously tracks key physiological metrics, including heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality. These readings are processed through Acer's companion mobile app, which uses AI to generate personalized wellness suggestions and realtime wellness suggestions aimed at helping users stay on top of their health.
In terms of design, Acer offers the FreeSense Ring in two finishes: a glossy Black and a matte Rose Gold, with sizes ranging from 7 to 13. It’s also 5ATM water-resistant, making it safe for swimming and everyday use, though not suitable for diving. This level of durability and design flexibility shows that Acer isn’t just testing the waters; it’s aiming to be a serious player in the wearable health tech scene.
While the company hasn’t yet revealed pricing or availability, the buzz from Computex suggests that Acer is positioning this ring as a premium yet accessible option in the smart ring category. Given the rise in interest around wearable health devices, especially rings that don’t get in the way of daily activities, the FreeSense Ring could quickly become a go-to choice for fitness enthusiasts, tech fans, and even casual users who want to stay informed about their health.
