Riot Games unveils Corrode, a new map set in a climate-ravaged Omega Earth, and the Phaseguard Collection in VALORANT Season 2025 Act IV.
Riot Games is kicking off VALORANT Season 2025 // Act IV with a bold new update that brings both a visually unique map and a futuristic weapon skinline into the mix. The highlight of this season is Corrode, a brand-new map that reimagines a once-historic French castle town into an industrial Radianite salt mining site, now ravaged by climate change on the alternate world of Omega Earth.
Corrode stands out not just for its setting, but also for its gameplay style. The map features a classic 3-lane layout, offering two Spike Sites and a structure that promotes strategic, balanced engagements. Riot has toned down the chaotic, ability-heavy approach of some past maps, giving Corrode a more measured pace. With built-in fall-back spots and layered defensive areas, players can expect longer fights that reward smart positioning and teamwork.
To help players get comfortable with Corrode, Riot is offering a 50% reduction in Ranked Rating (RR) loss during the first two weeks of its competitive debut starting June 25. Wins will still grant full RR, encouraging players to explore the map without worrying too much about rank drops. From June 25 to June 30, there will also be a dedicated Corrode queue in Swiftplay mode for quicker matches and hands-on practice.
Alongside the map, Riot is rolling out the Phaseguard Collection, a new set of weapon skins designed with sleek, tactical aesthetics. This collection includes updated looks for the Vandal, Outlaw, Ghost, Bulldog, and introduces a brand-new melee skin called the Splitter. The Phaseguard Collection will be available starting June 26, just a day after the season begins.
Players can also look forward to the new Battlepass packed with themed content. Highlights include the 5 Years: Kill All Radiants Player Card, the charming Bonsai Gun Buddy, and the ATLAS // CMD Vandal skin. These cosmetics continue to add personality and value to the in-game experience, especially for long-time fans.
Season 2025 // Act IV officially goes live on June 25, and with the combination of a fresh competitive map and stylish new skins, Riot is setting the stage for another exciting chapter in VALORANT. Whether you're jumping in to master the tactical challenges of Corrode or collecting the latest gear, this update delivers something for every kind of player.
