ASUS has just launched their newest ZenBook laptops, and along with the ASUS ZenBook 13 OLED is this incredible laptop, ASUS ZenBook Duo 14. The first version of this was actually during the 2019 Computex ASUS event in Taiwan (Blog here). So innovative and first to launch in the market, the ASUS ZenBook Duo made waves and made impact to creators and multi-taskers all over the world.

The new ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 brings the multi-tasking capabilities of a laptop to a whole new level. Now with the ScreenPad Plus and ScreenXpert UI. So let's do a quick unboxing.
Inside the carrying box is another box, looking clean and premium. You also can see the premium carrying sleeve for your laptop. It's thicker compared to previous sleeves and definitely a better protection this this is slightly heavier than my ASUS ZenBook 13

Then the reveal of this beautiful laptop. Immediately you can see the gradient ray when a light hits the logo. That asymmetric-circle ZenBook pattern definitely gives off a modern and sophisticated appearance.
Right off the bat you can immediately see the key features of the ASUS ZenBook Duo 14.
  • Ergonomic ScreenPad PLUS - Enhanced dual-screen productivity
  • Up to 40% Faster CPU Performance - In Cinebench R20 compared to 15W laptop CPU
  • High-Capacity 60Wh Battery - Up to 17-hour battery life.
  • NanoEdge Display - 93% screen-to-body ratio
  • Eye Protection - TUV Rheinland-certified flicker free.
  • Thunderbolt 4 USB-C - 40Gbps ultrafast connectivity
  • Stylus Support - Precise input 4096 pressure levels
  • ASUS WiFi Master Premium - Smart Connect & WiFi Stabilizer
Those are a lot of features already and we barely scratched the surface. Also inside the box you can find the 65W USB type-C charger, ASUS Pen, the Duo stand and also some warranty information and user guide.

Before we even open this up, just admire the celestial blue finish of the laptop. The chasis is mad eout of magnesium alloy which give a very nice premium feel to it. It only weighs 1.6 kg and has passed multiple military grade durability tests like humidity, altitude, vibration, high and low temp and shock test.
The main display is a 14-inch fullHD nano edge display with a 4mm thin bezel giving it a 93% screen to body ratio. The secondary screen is 12.6 inch display just above the keyboard. Both displays are touch screen.
If you're familiar with the first ZenBook Duo, this one has significantly improved with the ScreenPad plus and the updated design. The secondary screen automatically tilts up to 7 degrees giving you improved readability. Engineered with teh new aero dynamic system+ with the feature ErgoLift which is my favorite feature of the ZenBook lineups. This increasses airflow by 49% giving amazing internal temperature with its dual fans.
The secondary screen is a feature I never thought I needed until I used it. Now that it has the ScreenXpert 2, it now has some handy quick controls designed to give you an edge in workflow efficiency.
It is now a lot snappier. Users can adjust the location of the Control Center and snap it to the right, left, or bottom, according to preference. Buttons on the new Control Center task bar can also be added or moved to allow for customization.
This is a big advantage for creators out there. The new Control Panel app to the ScreenXpert User Interface (UI) currently supports Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Lightroom Classic. Creators can fully customize the functions and icon positioning for each of the app specific decks. The Control Panel will automatically launch the deck assigned to each of the supported apps.
