Raising the Gold Standard: RacketPro APAC Launches Coach Certification Tour to Fuel Philippine Pickleball Boom

Philippine pickleball is no longer just an emerging recreational trend—it has officially evolved into one of the country’s fastest-growing sporting movements. With hundreds of courts popping up across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, RacketPro (RPO) APAC is stepping in to address the sport’s next critical growth pillar: building a sustainable, world-class coaching ecosystem.

Rolling out across Manila, Cebu, and Davao from late July through early August 2026, the RacketPro APAC Level 1 Coach Certification Tour aims to train and certify over 100 local instructors with internationally recognized credentials.

• Community Scale: 492 affiliated clubs, 46,400+ registered players, and 427 venues. 

• Retail Accessibility: 86 dedicated courts situated across 29 shopping malls. 

• Major Infrastructure: Up to ₱1B investment from Robinsons Land & Kosmas Athletic Ventures for the Helios Pickleball Center (25 pro courts, 2,000-seat stadium). 

• Tour Stops: Manila (July 29), Cebu (July 31), and Davao (August 2).

From Recreational Boom to World-Class Infrastructure
According to data from the Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF), player participation is accelerating rapidly across all demographics. This explosion in grassroots interest has attracted significant global capital into local infrastructure.

Robinsons Land and Kosmas Athletic Ventures are investing up to ₱1 billion to construct the Helios Pickleball Center—Asia’s first tournament-grade facility featuring 25 professional-grade courts and a 2,000-seat stadium court. The facility is set to host multiple PPA Tour Asia events starting in 2027, backed by major equipment partners like JOOLA.

Sustaining Growth Through Coaching Excellence
While massive facilities and tournaments drive participation, long-term athletic development requires qualified leadership on the court. RPO APAC—an official partner of the PPA Tour—is focusing its efforts directly on coaching quality.

Having already certified over 1,500 coaches across 22 countries, RPO’s Level 1 curriculum is designed by Collin Johns, world-class pickleball professional and RPO Technical Director. The program blends online coursework with intensive on-court instruction covering player assessment, lesson planning, and practical instruction methodologies.

Joining Johns in leading the Philippine stops are Connor Nguyen (Managing Director of RPO APAC) and veteran coach Derek Sawer.
