As more Filipinos look for smarter ways to balance family needs and earning opportunities, the VinFast Limo Green is emerging as a practical electric vehicle (EV) that can seamlessly serve both purposes.
For Quezon-based ride-hailing driver Paul Simbulan, making the switch to the VinFast Limo Green was initially driven by curiosity about electric mobility. Today, it has become a decision that supports both his family’s lifestyle and his livelihood.
One Vehicle for Work and Family Life
Like many Filipino families, Simbulan previously preferred gasoline-powered MPVs for road trips and weekend outings. However, after experiencing several rides with Green SM and speaking with drivers who already owned the vehicle, he became increasingly interested in the benefits of electric mobility.
“I had booked Green SM rides for the whole family several times in the past,” Simbulan shared. “Every time, the Limo Green felt very comfortable inside, and the cabin was noticeably quiet even in heavy traffic. I also spoke with several drivers already using the vehicle before deciding to buy one myself.”
After several months of ownership, Simbulan describes the Limo Green as a true “two-in-one” vehicle, one that comfortably transports his family on weekends while generating income through TNVS operations during the week.
Its driving range of up to 450 kilometers per full charge gives him the flexibility to handle longer routes, airport transfers, and daily bookings without worrying about frequent charging stops. Meanwhile, fast-charging capability allows the battery to recharge in around 30 minutes, minimizing downtime.
“A short charging stop is enough for a quick rest before heading out again,” he said. “It doesn’t really interrupt the workday.”
Beyond efficiency, Simbulan appreciates the vehicle’s driving dynamics. Delivering up to 150 kW of power and 280 Nm of torque, the Limo Green provides smooth acceleration and responsive performance that feels noticeably different from traditional gasoline-powered MPVs.
Its spacious seven-seat cabin also adds to its versatility.
“The cabin feels solid and roomy,” Simbulan said. “It works well for family trips, but it is also ideal for carrying passengers.”
The larger passenger capacity has proven valuable for airport transfers, group rides, and fixed-route transport services, helping improve earning potential while maintaining passenger comfort.
Lower Costs, Better Earnings
For many ride-hailing drivers, profitability depends not only on passenger demand but also on keeping operating expenses under control.
According to Simbulan, this is where the Limo Green delivers one of its biggest advantages. Charging costs are significantly lower than fuel expenses associated with conventional gasoline vehicles. VinFast also offers free charging support at V-Green stations across Southeast Asia until March 2029, including for commercial users.
For drivers who travel long distances daily, fuel expenses can easily accumulate to thousands of pesos each month. Over several years, those costs can add up substantially.
With free charging support, however, Limo Green drivers can dramatically reduce running costs, allowing them to keep more of their earnings and improve overall profitability.
Real-World Savings Build Confidence
Growing confidence in EV ownership is also being fueled by real-life experiences from Filipino drivers.
One VinFast owner, surnamed Santos, recently shared his experience in a VinFast Facebook community after completing a nearly 2,900-kilometer road trip across Luzon in just 12 days.
His journey covered Marikina, Batangas, Tagaytay, Quezon, Naga, Caramoan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Baguio, a total of 10 destinations. Despite the extensive travel, his total charging expense was only around PHP 1,900.
“Sobrang sulit,” he wrote.
Stories like these continue to encourage more Filipinos to view EVs not only as personal vehicles but also as practical tools for business and daily mobility.
Expanding Access Through Green Rental
The increasing popularity of the Limo Green is also reflected in Vietnam, VinFast’s home market. During the first quarter of 2026, combined sales of the Limo Green and VF MPV 7 exceeded 16,000 units, with the Limo Green accounting for 12,471 vehicles and leading the mid-size MPV segment.
To make EV ownership and income opportunities more accessible, VinFast recently launched its Green vehicle rental program in the Philippines and Indonesia.
The program allows customers to rent vehicles from the Green lineup through authorized dealerships in addition to purchasing them outright. Designed to lower barriers to entry, the initiative offers fixed daily rental rates starting at PHP 1,000 in the Philippines.
Amid continued fuel price fluctuations, the rental model provides drivers with a more affordable pathway to enter the ride-hailing industry while benefiting from the cost savings of electric mobility.
At the center of the program is the Limo Green, a model specifically designed for high-frequency passenger transport and commercial operations.
For Simbulan, however, the biggest advantage remains its flexibility.
The same vehicle that comfortably carries his family on weekend adventures also helps provide a steady source of income throughout the week.
“I still recommend the Limo Green to friends whenever they ask about EVs,” he said.
