Lenovo Legion brings competition-ready gaming technology to the world of Formula 1 sim racing
The thrill of Formula 1 is no longer limited to the racetrack. As sim racing continues to grow into a global competitive phenomenon, fans and gamers are becoming more immersed in the fast-paced world of virtual motorsport — where precision, speed, and technology matter just as much as they do in real-life racing.
Strengthening its partnership with Formula One, Lenovo has officially expanded its role to power the 2026 Formula 1 Sim Racing World Championship. Through its gaming brand Lenovo Legion, the company will serve as the Official Technology Provider for the global sim racing competition.
To support elite drivers competing throughout the season, Lenovo is equipping the championship with high-performance gaming hardware, including the Lenovo Legion Tower 5i (30L, 10) desktop PCs and Lenovo Legion Pro 32UD-10 gaming monitors.
Designed for competitive gaming, the Legion Tower 5i delivers ultra-fast processing speeds and stable, responsive performance needed in high-pressure racing environments. Paired with the Legion Pro 32UD-10’s immersive 4K OLED display, drivers can experience sharper visuals, deeper contrast, and more realistic track details that help bring every race to life.
The partnership highlights how advanced gaming technology continues to shape modern entertainment and esports experiences, especially for younger audiences and motorsport fans who follow Formula 1 both on and off the track.
Following its successful launch during DreamHack Birmingham in the United Kingdom last March 27 to 29, Lenovo technology continues to support the rest of the championship season at Formula 1’s Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill, UK. The facility, known as the heart of Formula 1’s broadcast operations, also hosted another event last April 22 to 23.
The expanded collaboration also strengthens Lenovo’s growing role within Formula 1 beyond race operations and broadcast delivery. By supporting sim racing competitions, Lenovo technology now powers both real-world and virtual motorsport environments, helping improve event operations, content production, and overall driver performance across the championship.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, shared her excitement about the expanded partnership, saying Lenovo’s innovation across virtual and real-world motorsport makes the company an ideal partner for the championship.
“Expanding Formula 1’s collaboration with Lenovo to power the 2026 F1 Sim Racing World Championship marks an exciting step forward in our partnership. Lenovo’s continued commitment to innovation across both virtual and real-world motorsport makes them the perfect partner to equip the world’s best sim racing talent with first-class technology and deliver outstanding competition,” she said.
Meanwhile, Volker Düring, VP & GM of PC Gaming Business at Lenovo, emphasized how partnerships like Formula 1 help shape the future of gaming devices.
“Powering the 2026 Formula 1 Sim Racing World Championship allows us to put Lenovo Legion technology to the ultimate test in a truly competitive and high-performance environment,” Düring said. “It means that when Lenovo devices reach gamers worldwide, they are not only built for performance but proven on the world stage.”
With all 12 rounds of the championship streamed live across Formula 1’s digital platforms, Lenovo technology will continue supporting every moment of the action as drivers compete for sim racing glory on the global stage.
