Lenovo has announced the appointment of Sumir Bhatia as its first Chief Commercial Officer for the Asia Pacific region, marking a strategic move to further strengthen its commercial capabilities across one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-evolving technology markets.

In his new role, Bhatia will lead Lenovo’s newly formed commercial organization in Asia Pacific, bringing together enterprise sales, solution sales, channel, and alliance teams under one unified structure. The goal is to create stronger alignment across businesses and accelerate growth while delivering more integrated and impactful solutions to customers. He will continue to report to Amar Babu, President of Asia Pacific at Lenovo.

A long-time Lenovo leader, Bhatia has spent the past decade heading the company’s Infrastructure Solutions Group. During this time, he has played a key role in driving sustained growth and transformation within Lenovo’s infrastructure business across the region.

The Asia Pacific market continues to be a hotspot for digital transformation, where organizations are rapidly adopting new technologies to stay competitive. With varying levels of digital maturity across countries, evolving IT infrastructure needs, and vast untapped opportunities, the region presents a strong landscape for Lenovo to expand its end-to-end, flexible solutions.

Under Bhatia’s leadership, the newly integrated commercial team will further align Lenovo’s full-stack AI offerings and capabilities across its business units. This includes strengthening collaboration between teams and markets to deliver Hybrid AI solutions designed specifically for enterprise and commercial customers navigating digital change.

This leadership transition also follows the planned retirement of Ivan Cheung, Vice President and General Manager of Lenovo’s PCs & Smart Devices (PCSD) and Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific, scheduled for June 2026. Cheung has been instrumental in driving Lenovo’s device business growth and regional success over the years.

Stepping into the next phase of leadership, Benjamin Yeh assumed the role of Vice President and General Manager of PCSD for Asia Pacific in March 2026. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Yeh is expected to lead Lenovo’s PC and smart devices business into its next stage of innovation and growth across the region.

As Lenovo continues to evolve its leadership structure, the company reinforces its commitment to delivering smarter, more connected, and more adaptive technology solutions for businesses across Asia Pacific.
