CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple has unveiled a new family of displays designed to seamlessly complement the Mac and elevate the everyday computing experience—from creative professionals and designers to remote workers and digital creators. The refreshed lineup includes the upgraded Studio Display and the all-new Studio Display XDR, bringing powerful visual performance, immersive audio, and advanced connectivity into modern workspaces.
The new Studio Display continues to be a perfect companion for Mac users who want stunning visuals and a more engaging everyday setup. It features a gorgeous 27-inch 5K Retina display with over 14 million pixels, 600 nits of brightness, and P3 wide color for rich, lifelike imagery whether you're editing photos, producing music, coding, or simply enjoying your favorite content.
To make video calls and online meetings feel more natural, Studio Display now includes an upgraded 12MP Center Stage camera with improved image quality and Desk View, allowing users to show both themselves and a top-down view of their desk during presentations or creative demonstrations. It also features a studio-quality three-microphone array and a powerful six-speaker system with Spatial Audio, delivering immersive sound whether you’re collaborating with colleagues or streaming media.
Connectivity also gets a major boost with Thunderbolt 5, enabling faster connections for high-speed accessories and even allowing users to daisy-chain multiple displays. With two Thunderbolt 5 ports and additional USB-C ports for peripherals and charging, Studio Display helps keep workspaces efficient and clutter-free.
Taking display technology to the next level, Apple also introduced the Studio Display XDR, designed for professionals who demand the absolute best visual performance for workflows like filmmaking, graphic design, HDR video editing, and 3D animation.
The new Studio Display XDR features a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR display with advanced mini-LED backlighting and more than 2,000 local dimming zones, delivering exceptional contrast and brightness. It supports up to 1000 nits of sustained SDR brightness and 2000 nits of peak HDR brightness, creating remarkable depth from the darkest shadows to the brightest highlights.
Color accuracy is another major highlight. Studio Display XDR supports both P3 wide color and Adobe RGB, making it an ideal reference display for designers, photographers, and print professionals. With more than 80 percent Rec. 2020 coverage, creators can confidently edit HDR content with exceptional precision.
Motion also feels incredibly smooth thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate and Adaptive Sync, which dynamically adjusts frame rates between 47Hz and 120Hz for fluid video playback, gaming, and graphics-heavy tasks.
Like Studio Display, the Studio Display XDR includes the 12MP Center Stage camera, studio-quality microphones, and a six-speaker Spatial Audio system, making it equally capable for collaboration and content creation. Thunderbolt 5 connectivity allows users to connect high-performance accessories, daisy-chain displays, and even charge compatible laptops with up to 140W of power, enough to fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro.
Studio Display XDR also features a tilt- and height-adjustable stand with a counterbalancing arm for effortless adjustments. For customized desk setups, users can opt for a VESA mount adapter compatible with various stands, mounts, and arms.
Beyond performance, Apple continues its commitment to sustainability. Both Studio Display models are made with recycled materials, including 100 percent recycled aluminum in the stand and 80 percent recycled glass in the standard glass option. The displays are designed to be durable, repairable, and energy efficient as Apple moves toward its goal of becoming carbon neutral across its entire footprint by 2030.
