CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple has officially introduced the all-new MacBook Air with M5, bringing exceptional performance, expanded AI capabilities, and improved connectivity to the world’s most popular laptop. Designed for modern lifestyles from students juggling coursework to creatives working on demanding projects, the latest MacBook Air combines powerful technology with the sleek portability users love.

Powered by the next-generation Apple M5 chip, the new MacBook Air delivers faster performance thanks to its enhanced CPU and next-generation GPU. Each GPU core now features a Neural Accelerator, enabling the laptop to breeze through everything from everyday productivity tasks to complex AI workflows. Whether you’re editing photos, rendering 3D designs, or managing multiple apps at once, the MacBook Air with M5 keeps things smooth and responsive.
Storage also gets a welcome upgrade. The new MacBook Air now starts with 512GB of storage, double the previous generation, using faster SSD technology that accelerates file transfers and app launches. For users who need more space for creative projects, documents, or games, the laptop can now be configured with up to 4TB of storage.

Connectivity also takes a leap forward with Apple’s new N1 wireless chip, bringing Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for faster and more reliable wireless performance. This means smoother video calls, faster downloads, and seamless device connections, whether you’re working at home, in a café, or on campus.
Despite the performance boost, MacBook Air remains true to its iconic design. It features a thin, light, and durable aluminum body, making it easy to carry anywhere. The laptop also includes a stunning Liquid Retina display, available in 13-inch and 15-inch models, delivering up to 500 nits of brightness and support for 1 billion colors for vibrant visuals and crisp text.

Users will also enjoy the upgraded 12MP Center Stage camera, which automatically keeps you centered during video calls, along with a three-mic array that enhances voice clarity. The immersive speaker system supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, creating a rich sound experience whether you’re watching movies, listening to music, or attending virtual meetings.
Battery life continues to be one of MacBook Air’s standout features. The new model offers up to 18 hours of battery life, allowing users to work, study, stream, or create throughout the day without constantly searching for a power outlet. Fast-charging support also helps users quickly get back to work.

“The new MacBook Air with M5 brings incredible performance and even more capability to the world’s most popular laptop,” said John Ternus, senior vice president of Hardware Engineering at Apple. “With M5, MacBook Air powers through everything from everyday productivity to creative workloads and AI tasks. Combined with double the starting storage, Wi-Fi 7, and long battery life, it’s the perfect laptop for anyone who values performance and portability.”

Performance improvements are especially noticeable in AI and creative workloads. The M5 chip’s 10-core CPU and up-to-10-core GPU deliver major performance gains, including up to 4x faster AI tasks compared to M4 models and up to 9.5x faster than M1 models. The GPU also features enhanced shader cores and a third-generation ray-tracing engine, improving gaming and 3D rendering performance.

Memory bandwidth has also increased, offering 153GB/s, a 28 percent improvement over the previous generation. This enables faster multitasking and smoother workflows when working across multiple apps.

The new MacBook Air runs on macOS Tahoe, which introduces a refreshed design with Liquid Glass, new customization options, and powerful AI-powered features through Apple Intelligence. Users can enjoy tools like Live Translation in Messages, smarter Reminders that automatically organize tasks, and enhanced Shortcuts that can automate complex actions such as extracting information from PDFs.

Continuity features also strengthen the connection between Mac and iPhone, including the Phone app on Mac, which allows users to make and receive cellular calls directly from their laptop, and iPhone Mirroring, which displays Live Activities so users can stay updated without switching devices.
Apple continues its commitment to sustainability with the new MacBook Air. The device is built with 55 percent recycled materials, including 100 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure and 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery. Packaging is also 100 percent fiber-based, helping Apple move closer to its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

The new MacBook Air with M5 will soon be available for order through Apple’s Philippine online store and authorized resellers. The 13-inch model starts at ₱72,990, while the 15-inch model starts at ₱85,990, with special pricing available for education customers.

Available colors include sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver, offering users both performance and style in one sleek laptop.
