AIA Philippines Rethink Healthy Summit Inspires Filipinos to Embrace Everyday Wellness Habits

A fresh, more empowering take on health and wellness took center stage as AIA Philippines gathered over 200 creators, media partners, employees, Life Planners, and health advocates for its first-ever Rethink Healthy Influencer Summit.

Designed as the biggest influencer event in the insurance industry, the summit encouraged Filipinos to move beyond traditional ideas of health and embrace something more realistic, small, brave choices that make a big difference over time. Instead of overwhelming routines or drastic changes, the message was clear: living healthier can start with simple, everyday decisions.

The event builds on AIA Philippines’ latest study, “Rethink Healthy: Shaping Filipino Health-Seeking Choices, from Thinking to Doing,” which highlights a noticeable shift among Filipinos, from the laid-back “bahala na” mindset to a more proactive “handa na” approach. More people are now taking ownership of their well-being, driven largely by their desire to care for their families and secure a better future.

“Rethink Healthy is about helping people turn intention into action,” shared Melissa Henson, Chief Marketing Officer of AIA Philippines. Filipinos already know what healthy means. What we want to show is that it’s actually achievable through small, consistent steps that lead to Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.”

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in interactive sessions that made health feel less intimidating and more personal, proving that change doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.

One of the most relatable discussions came from the “Rethinking Healthcare” session, where Julian Mengual of MediCard pointed out a common Filipino habit: waiting until something feels wrong before seeking medical help. He explained that it’s not always neglect, many simply don’t know where to begin.

This “tiis muna” mindset, or enduring discomfort first, often leads to bigger health and financial challenges down the line. AIA Life Planner Grace Quinto reinforced this, emphasizing that early care, paired with financial planning like insurance or emergency funds, can ease long-term burdens and provide peace of mind.
Mental wellness also took the spotlight in a candid and deeply relatable session featuring Wil Dasovich, Cat Triviño, and Dr. Francine Bofill. They discussed the reality of being “high-functioning” while silently struggling, something many Filipinos can relate to.

Dasovich shared that his most meaningful connections online happen when he shows vulnerability, not perfection. Meanwhile, Triviño encouraged people to seek help even before reaching a breaking point, reminding everyone that mental health care should be part of everyday life, not just a last resort. Dr. Bofill echoed this by outlining simple steps: start conversations, recognize your feelings, and don’t hesitate to ask for support.
The conversation on influence and authenticity featured Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico, and Charissa Kow from TikTok. Together, they explored how digital platforms can shape healthier behaviors.

For Heussaff, authenticity is key to building real connections, while Bolzico challenged the pressure of perfection often seen online. Kow highlighted TikTok’s efforts to foster a safe, expressive environment where users can be themselves without unrealistic expectations.
Closing the summit was an inspiring session on strength featuring Amotti, known for winning Physical: 100 Season 2. Instead of focusing on extreme fitness, he emphasized consistency, building routines that naturally support a healthier lifestyle.

His message resonated strongly: health isn’t about getting everything right overnight. It’s about showing up, making small choices daily, and having the courage to start.

Through initiatives like the Rethink Healthy Influencer Summit and its growing creator platform AIA Voices, AIA Philippines continues to inspire Filipinos to move from intention to action, proving that a healthier life is not only possible, but within reach.
