LG Unleashes "UltraGear evo™": The World’s First 5K Gaming Monitors with On-Device AI Upscaling
SEOUL & LAS VEGAS, JANUARY 2026 — LG Electronics (LG) is setting a new benchmark for high-resolution gaming with the global debut of UltraGear evo™. Launching at CES 2026, this premium sub-brand introduces the world’s first 5K AI Upscaling technology, allowing gamers to achieve 5K-class clarity without the heavy tax on their GPU.
The inaugural lineup features three flagship models designed to eliminate the "compromise" between speed and resolution:
39-inch GX9 OLED (39GX950B): A 5K2K curved masterpiece featuring Primary RGB Tandem OLED for enhanced brightness and longevity. It boasts a "Dual Mode" that toggles between 5K2K at 165Hz and WFHD at a blistering 330Hz.
27-inch GM9 MiniLED (27GM950B): The world’s first 5K "New MiniLED" monitor. With 2,304 local dimming zones and Zero Optical Distance engineering, it virtually eliminates the "blooming" (halo effect) common in high-end displays.
52-inch G9 Ultra-Wide (52G930B): The world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor. It offers a massive 21:9 panoramic view—33% wider than standard UHD—with a 240Hz refresh rate and immersive 1000R curvature.
"UltraGear evo marks a definitive turning point," said Lee Choong-hwoan, head of Display Business at LG. "With industry-first 5K AI Upscaling, we are ensuring that gamers no longer have to choose between visual fidelity and competitive performance."
Visitors at CES 2026 can experience these displays firsthand at the "Dream Setup" zone, inspired by Reddit’s vibrant gaming communities.
