Epson Philippines and Urban Label Breathe New Life into the "Queen of Philippine Flowers" Through Digital Wearable Art
Tradition meets high-tech precision as Epson Philippines partners with rising Filipino designer Beatriz Nicole Benadera of Urban Label by Maria & Co. The collaboration unveils a stunning new textile collection that transforms the legendary Waling-Waling orchid—the Queen of Philippine Flowers—into modern, wearable art.

Unlike traditional collections that rely on heavy embellishments, Benadera’s designs use the fabric itself as the storyteller. By utilizing Epson’s advanced SureColor SC-F9430H digital textile printer, the collection features large-scale, high-definition prints that capture the intricate details and vibrant hues of the Waling-Waling with photographic precision.
The partnership, supported by ES Print Media, Inc., highlights a shift toward more responsible fashion. Epson’s digital printing technology allows for on-demand production, significantly reducing textile waste and excess inventory—a crucial move for a more sustainable Philippine fashion industry.

“Working with Epson allowed me to shift from designing around limitations to designing with total confidence,” said Benadera. “The textile design became an integral part of the garment’s structure rather than just an afterthought.”
Masako Kusama, President and Director of Epson Philippines, added: “Our solutions help designers execute complex ideas with clarity. This partnership reflects how decades of precision printing technology can bridge the gap between cultural heritage and modern, mindful production.”
