Casio Debuts Its First Mechanical EDIFICE Watch

Casio introduces its first automatic EDIFICE collection, the EFK100 series. Explore the design, features, and pricing of these stylish and high-performance mechanical watches.
Casio has just taken a bold step forward with its EDIFICE brand by launching the EFK100 series, the first mechanical watches ever released in this lineup. Known for its precise and sporty design language, the EDIFICE range has always leaned toward advanced quartz-powered timekeeping. But now, Casio is entering new territory with automatic movements at the heart of these watches.

The EFK100 series includes three models: the EFK100CD-1A featuring a forged carbon dial, the EFK100D-2A with a deep blue dial, and the EFK100D-7A, which sports a crisp white dial. Each version reflects Casio’s signature mix of everyday wearability and clean, performance-inspired design. What’s new and exciting is how Casio has blended these familiar design elements with mechanical craftsmanship for the very first time in the EDIFICE line.

On the surface, these watches stay true to EDIFICE's reputation for sharp, purposeful styling. The cases are made of stainless steel and feature both hairline and mirror finishes that provide a solid, polished look. The dials are simple and clean, with a date window neatly positioned at six o’clock. Hour and minute hands are hollowed out and treated with luminous tips, making it easier to read time in low light, while maintaining the sporty feel the brand is known for.

What sets the EFK100 apart, however, is what’s going on beneath the surface. For fans of mechanical watches, the transparent case back reveals the inner mechanics of the movement, including a spinning oscillating weight that’s engraved with the EDIFICE and Casio logos. This thoughtful touch adds a mechanical soul to what was once strictly a quartz-powered collection.

All three models come with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and they’re built to handle water up to 100 meters deep. This makes the watches not just visually appealing but also practical for everyday use, including occasional exposure to water, like rain or washing your hands.

The pricing is accessible, too. The EFK100CD-1A, with its forged carbon dial, will retail for $300, while the blue and white dial versions (EFK100D-2A and EFK100D-7A) are set at $280 each. The entire series will be available starting July 11 on Casio.com and through select retailers across the U.S.

For Casio, this isn’t just another product launch, it’s a milestone. By bringing mechanical movements to the EDIFICE line, the company is tapping into a broader watch community that values craftsmanship, tradition, and visible engineering. It’s also a smart way to appeal to lifestyle-conscious users who appreciate the subtle difference a mechanical watch can bring to their daily style.

If you’ve been following the evolution of Casio or are simply in the market for a quality automatic watch that doesn’t break the bank, the EDIFICE EFK100 series is definitely worth checking out. For more details and to shop the collection, head over to casio.com.
