We attended Jollibee’s launch of their newest campaign, #BidaBestBidaPinoy featuring Pia Wurtzbach, Hidilyn Diaz, Carlos Yulo, EJ Obiena, Dr. Reina, UPeepz, and Quiccs. A moving showcase of Filipino talent across the globe just in time for Independence Day.
Last May 5, 2025, we had the opportunity to attend the launch of Jollibee’s newest campaign, #BidaBestBidaPinoy where we celebrate Filipino champions across different fields to show that we believe in one truth: that Filipinos are truly world-class and honestly, it felt like more than just a brand event. It was a powerful gathering of world-class Filipino talent, rolled out just ahead of Independence Day, to shine a light on what it truly means to be proudly Pinoy on the global stage.
The evening brought together a remarkable lineup of Filipino champions, each with a unique story that reflects grit, creativity, and heart. Jollibee officially unveiled its #BidaBestBidaPinoy ambassadors, a diverse group of individuals who have made waves internationally in their own fields: sports, science, art, dance, gaming, and beauty.
Seeing Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz and Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on stage was already a moment. Both shared powerful reflections on their journeys. Hidilyn spoke about the discipline and faith it took to lift the nation—literally and figuratively. Pia, on the other hand, talked about how representing the Philippines on the global stage changed her life, and how she continues to use her platform to uplift others.
But the spotlight didn’t stop there.
Carlos Yulo, a gymnastics powerhouse, was also introduced as a #BidaBestBidaPinoy ambassador. Known for bringing home medals from the world stage, Carlos has helped put Philippine gymnastics on the map. His quiet discipline and world-class form reflect a kind of excellence that doesn’t always make headlines but definitely deserves them.
From the track and field world, EJ Obiena’s story was just as compelling. As one of Asia’s best pole vaulters, he continues to break records while carrying the Philippine flag with pride at every international meet. His journey has been anything but smooth, but he reminded us that resilience is often the backbone of success.
Then there was Dr. Reina Reyes, often called “The Filipina who proved Einstein right.” Her inclusion in the campaign was one of my favorite parts because it showed that Filipino excellence isn't limited to physical performance or pop culture. In science and research, Filipinos are making waves too. Dr. Reina’s work in astrophysics proves that Filipinos belong in the world’s most elite academic circles.
Representing dance and street culture, UPeepz brought unmatched energy to the night. As world champions in international dance competitions, their artistry showed how Filipino creativity and teamwork can move the world, literally. Watching them perform live gave the event a pulse that connected everyone in the room.
Lastly, Quiccs, a renowned Filipino toy designer and visual artist, was introduced as a symbol of Filipino creativity pushing into global pop culture. Known for his designer toys and street art aesthetic, Quiccs has built an international following without losing touch with his Filipino roots. His work is a perfect example of how modern Pinoy identity blends tradition with global influence.
What tied the entire event together was Jollibee’s message: Filipino excellence is everywhere. Whether it's lifting weights, breaking scientific boundaries, conquering dance stages, or creating urban art—there’s no single definition of what it means to be “the best.” The #BidaBestBidaPinoy campaign encourages all of us to own our potential, wherever it may lie.
Being there, we felt a strong sense of unity. Each ambassador represented a different kind of Filipino, yet together they painted a bigger picture of who we are as a nation. And with Independence Day coming up, it was a timely reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much further we can go.
We left the venue not just inspired, but also deeply proud. This wasn’t just a campaign launch; it was a celebration of stories that deserve to be told. If you're looking for something to reignite your Filipino pride, keep an eye on this campaign. Jollibee’s #BidaBestBidaPinoy isn’t just about being excellent—it’s about showing the world how we do it, the Filipino way.
