Bose launches its latest QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds with wireless charging, along with two updated Bluetooth speakers: the SoundLink Plus and second-gen SoundLink Micro. Here’s what you need to know about the new devices.
Bose is back with a fresh wave of audio gear that’s ready for summer adventures. The audio brand has announced three new products: the second-generation QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, the SoundLink Plus Portable Speaker, and the updated SoundLink Micro Speaker. These new releases aim to offer solid performance, comfort, and durability, just in time for the season of travel and outdoor gatherings.

The spotlight is clearly on the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, priced at $299, which are set to launch later this summer. This new version follows the 2023 model and continues to deliver the rich sound and reliable noise-canceling that users expect from Bose. But now, they come with built-in wireless charging, a welcome update that removes the need for an extra charging case, which was required with the earlier model. The earbuds also feature improved voice quality for clearer calls and better AI-powered noise filtering that handles sudden background noise more smoothly. Each earbud now includes a wax guard to help keep audio quality consistent over time.

Battery life remains the same, with up to six hours on a full charge, or four hours when using Bose’s immersive audio mode, which provides a more spatial and layered sound experience.

Alongside the earbuds, Bose is introducing the SoundLink Plus Portable Speaker at $269. This new speaker fits between the smaller SoundLink Flex and the larger SoundLink Max in Bose’s lineup. While the SoundLink Plus outputs mono sound, unlike the stereo sound from the Max, it doesn’t skimp on power. Inside, it houses a woofer, tweeter, and four passive radiators that give it a strong bass presence. It also holds an IP67 rating, meaning it’s resistant to dust and water—and even floats. The speaker can run for up to 20 hours on a single charge and has a USB-C port for charging other devices, adding to its convenience for people on the go.
Completing the trio is the new second-generation SoundLink Micro Speaker, a smaller and more portable option priced at $129. The first SoundLink Micro debuted in 2017 and quickly became a favorite for its size and sound. This new version builds on that success with USB-C charging, enhanced battery life (now up to 12 hours, doubling the original), and app support for adjusting EQ settings. It’s available in black and blue and comes with a removable fabric strap to easily attach it to bags, bikes, or even a shower head—perfect for anyone who wants their music on the move.

Bose's new lineup arrives at a time when many consumers are upgrading their gear for summer. These products aim to compete with other big names in audio, including Apple, Sony, Samsung, JBL, and Ultimate Ears. Despite market competition and rising costs in tech manufacturing, Bose has managed to keep prices in line with previous versions, avoiding major hikes due to tariffs or inflation. According to the company, they’ve made a “thoughtful approach” to pricing to keep their offerings accessible.

Would you buy these products if they were available here in the Philippines?
