Natalie Dau, an ultramarathon runner completes her 1000km run at Jollibee’s 1000th store in BGC. Here’s what went down at this inspiring and meaningful event.
On May 2, 2025, we stood among the crowd at BGC Triangle Drive and watched something truly special. Ultramarathon runner Natalie Dau was finishing her 1000km run across Luzon—and it all ended at the 1000th Jollibee store. It was a mix of excitement, happiness, and a bit of emotion as people gathered to cheer her on. It felt like a celebration, not just for her run, but for everything she stood for during those 12 days on the road.
Natalie started her journey on April 21 in Santa Ana, Cagayan. The run, called Project 1000, was more than just a physical challenge. It was about giving back. At every stop, she connected with communities, handed out meals, and spent time with kids—many of whom were trying Jollibee for the first time. It wasn’t just about the distance. It was about making people smile and showing that small moments of joy matter.

When she reached the final stretch in Bonifacio Global City, the streets were filled with people running alongside her. There were students from Sisters of Mary, Bayani Scholars, running clubs, and of course, her friends and family. Even Jollibee joined in for the last few meters, waving and dancing with the crowd. Everyone was cheering, and it felt like the whole place came alive.
We watched as Natalie crossed the finish line with a big smile, looking tired but proud. You could feel how much the moment meant to her. In her speech, she thanked the people she met and talked about how kind and welcoming everyone was. She said the run changed her, and it was clear she meant it. “It’s about raising money for Filipino children,” she said, “and Jollibee has been such a great partner.”

The celebration inside the store felt warm and simple. It was full of people who helped make Project 1000 happen—family, friends, media, and even leaders from the community. Mayor Lani Cayetano of Taguig was there, and so was BCDA President Engr. Joshua Bingcang. Both of them thanked Natalie for what she did and talked about how proud they were to witness it.
To close the event, everyone raised a piece of Chickenjoy for a toast—a classic Jollibee way to celebrate. It was fun, and honestly, a perfect way to end something so meaningful. Elise Maog from Jollibee said it best: “This is about more than just a run. It’s about what we can do together. Jollibee is about joy and bringing people together, and today showed that.”
