In a country where basketball is more than just a sport, the Red Bull Half Court 2026 Philippines National Finals showcased the passion, camaraderie, and competitive spirit that make Filipinos some of the most dedicated basketball fans in the world.
Held at Bigger Pictures in Mandaluyong on June 13, the national finals brought together the best streetball teams from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. After intense battles on the court, Manila-based teams JSKILLS and Pilipinas Aguilasemerged as the country's champions, earning the honor of representing the Philippines at the Red Bull Half Court 2026 World Finals, which will be held in Manila this December.
For the champions, the victory means more than a title, it’s an opportunity to showcase the heart and energy of Philippine streetball to the world.
“We want them to see that it’s not only about the game. It’s about the chemistry, the love for the game. Basically, I tell everybody, in the Philippines, basketball is like a religion. Everybody plays it, and everybody loves it. And to represent that, it’s a very good thing,” shared Fubara Whyte of JSKILLS.
Red Bull Half Court's signature fast-paced 3-on-3 format kept fans on the edge of their seats. Featuring a 10-minute game clock, a 12-second shot clock, the unique "Own the Court" bonus, and designated three-point scoring zones, every possession mattered.
Thrilling Championship Matches
The men's championship game saw JSKILLS battle HoopJeep HCG in one of the tournament's closest contests. After exchanging baskets throughout the game, JSKILLS delivered crucial defensive stops and key plays in the final minutes to secure a 15-12 victory and the national crown.
On the women's side, Pilipinas Aguilas and Uratex Dream delivered a dramatic showdown. A clutch two-point shot in the closing seconds gave Pilipinas Aguilas an 11-9 victory, crowning them Women's National Champions.
“We just came in a lot more focused, this being our last chance to win. We all were ready to give our 110% because everything was on the line,” said Elizabeth Means of Pilipinas Aguilas.
Teammate Camille Malagar added, “This matchup was super tough because we lost to them before. We really focused on switching hard and locking them down on defense.”
The tournament also featured powerhouse teams from across the country, including Uratex Tibay, Lady Maroons, SGF Kings, Filipino Mixtape, Gimcuad-Ninz, Team BOKKI, Coaches Corner, and Davao Agilas, all contributing to a thrilling celebration of Philippine streetball.
More Than Just a Tournament
Before the games began, the venue transformed into a festival of basketball culture. Fans enjoyed the Last Man Standing shooting challenge, while players showcased their skills during the Two-Point Shootout and Dunk Contest featuring Air David, Joe Gomez De Liano, and Shawn Jackson.
Another crowd favorite was the Hoop Trike, HoopJeepney’s newest mobile basketball experience, featuring a modified tricycle equipped with a basketball hoop. The attraction embodied the grassroots spirit of Philippine basketball, proving that the game can be played virtually anywhere.
Carrying Philippine Pride to the World Stage
Beyond the trophies and highlights, the Red Bull Half Court National Finals celebrated the sense of community and love for the game that unite Filipinos.
With the World Finals happening in Manila, both teams are eager to compete in front of their home crowd.
“There is pressure because we want to represent the Philippines well. But it's also motivating because our family and friends will be there to support us,” said Trina Guytingco of Pilipinas Aguilas.
JSKILLS shares the same determination.
“We are much more motivated now, knowing that the entire country is rooting for us. We will prepare and do our best to represent the Philippines,” said TH Tumalip.
As the country gears up for the Red Bull Half Court 2026 World Finals this December, Filipino basketball fans can once again look forward to seeing the country's unique brand of streetball passion shine on the global stage.
