Avida Land Unveils the Biggest Outdoor Mural in the South

It was an extra amazing Avida-morning last January 12, 2023, as Avida Land unveiled one of the biggest murals in the Philippines and the biggest in the South entitled “In Her Future Memories” as the winner of the South Park district Mural Design Competition.
As Tet Tatco, Avida Land's Vice President for Corporate Marketing and Retail stated in her opening remarks, Avida Land is committed to the arts and will continue to be an advocate for them for years to come. She discussed their passion for collaborating with various local artists - may it be music, craftsmanship, and arts and they are very glad to showcase this beautiful mural located at South Park District, Alabang.

The South is indeed a mix of the hustle and bustle of the metro and at the same the beautiful scenery of nature. This is why this became the inspiration for the mural competition theme entitled: "Part City, Part Nature, Pure South" and "In Her Future Memories" embodies not just this but also the advocacy of Avida.
The 20-meter mural "In Her Future Memories" was created and designed by the team leader and the man behind Marahuyo Studios, Jhocel "Anthony Marahuyo" Malicsi, and his team of thirteen talented visual artists—Rheydene Luca Ortega, Rhealhet Luca Ortega, Laurence Sebolino Gutierrez, Ma. Aleilyn Joyce Domingo Botin, John Roland Alipis, Ainafer Rupal Arena, John Alexis Rupal Arena, Roma Nieves Huet, Rica Permejo, Mia Jormalyn Astrera Balaoro, John Lenarrd Soriano Barua, Michael Grospe Autos, and Jefferson Panghulan Parajas. Jerome Edianel Carandang, Charmaine Abiado Camba, Paul Denvir Delmonte, and John Carlo Decrepito were on board to handle the logistics for the team.

What really inspires me is that despite their hectic schedules - since most of them are working night shifts, they were still able to accomplish this art piece in twelve days. This shows their motivation, dedication and their love for their craft.
Jhocel Malicsi, the team leader, and his team painted their winning mural on one of the South Park Center's external walls. They transformed the wall into a large, striking canvas with a clear visual narrative and a well-interpreted topic using appropriate and colorful paints supplied by Davies Paints.

Adhering to the competition's theme: "Part City, Part Nature, Pure South", the winning mural primarily features a female cyborg with its mechanical pieces blending in perfectly with a background of vibrantly colored tropical flowers and the beautiful cityscape view of the road headed to the South.
It is inspiring to hear the deep meaning behind the mural, it really shows how the team conceptualizes and expresses their love for art. As Jhocel explains, the mural symbolizes that progress does not have to come at the expense of the environment and conveys a message of hope and harmony in this ever-changing world.
This work of art allows people to reflect and take a moment to appreciate nature and art. This is also an opportunity for capturing special moments with your loved ones.

Make sure to include the hashtags #ArtInSouthPark #InspiredByAvida when you visit the mural at South Park District, National Road, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
