Headphones Done Right - Huawei FreeBuds Studio

0
Now I may have shared a couple of times how much I love the Huawei FreeBuds Studio. It's because I actually do. Headphones has gone a long way from the wired ones to the the bluetooth then the next level. This Huawei FreeBuds Studio is on another level. Adaptive noise cancelling, simultaneous multi device connection, amazing sound quality, AI features and so much. This headphone ticked so many boxes in the style, sound and features and it even checked the ones I never had.

Initially prices at Php 15,999, the Huawei FreeBuds Studio is a bit pricy if you just think about the price but what you will be getting is so much more than that.

Honest Review:

You may check previous posts to give you a bit more info about the Huawei FreeBuds Studio. Now one thing that I haven't really shared on previous post is the fit of the headphones. Now, in this aspect, it may be subjective.
Since there are some adjustable parts on the headphones you can easily adjust to your liking if it's a bit uncomfortable. Most of the time when I wear it for a long time, let's saya 2 hour movie, it's not uncomfortable. But rarely I can feel tightness on my ears. I guess it all depends on the type of adjustments that I do with it. The headband is adjusttable, you can see the aluminum matte brush finish there. The pressure is enough to keep the earcups on your head steady and the earcups are also adjustable with tilting up and down and front and rear.
I think the size of the earcups is just right, maybe even almost perfect. Even on a hot weather, it was still comforable to wear it.

The controls is one that I had mentioned already before. The more I use it, the more it's impressive. No buttons for other controls and just touch control. It's cool and elegant I might say. So simple to use too! Swipe up and down for the volume, and left or right for the previous and next song. Double tap to play, pause, answer and end call. You can also press and hold for 2 secs to activate voice assistant or reject a call.
I also mentioned before about the battery before. It will last you long time.  Up to 24 hours of listening, and around 20 hours with the ANC on. In case you run out of juice, just plug it for 10 minutes and that will give you around 5 more hours of use. Another thoughtful thing I'd like to share is the thoughtfulness of having a storage for the charging cable on its beautifully made carrying case. Pretty tough and would be able to protect the headphones.

Huawei AI Life app is the app that you will need to update your Huawei FeeBuds Studio and some more adjustments. You can change your ANC mode, turn on and off features, wear detection and customize the shortcuts. You can also see the battery level and enable or disable dual connect. This is the feature where the headphones can connect to multiple devices at once.
As for sound quality, I can say that this is one of the best sounding headphones in this range that I've tried. This one can definitely compete with Bose, Sony, Sennheiser and others in this range. The gives out a well balanced sound where the highs are crips, mid-rage is clean and the bass is pretty consistent. While it doesn't gives out so much as I would hope, it still delivers decent power. Even if you increase the volume, the sound is still balanced and excellent. Too bad you can't adjust or tweak the sounds on the app, maybe on future updates. If you need to, you can download an EQ app.

Now for noise cancelling, this has got to be the best one so far. It's amazing. Can definitely compete with other audio brands. Turning on the ANC will remove ambient sound and it's just amazing. Controlling and changing mode to Awarness mode and turning off the ANC is as easy as pressing the button on the left ear cup.
Now with all of these, is it perfect? Maybe not. The Huawei AI Life app may need a bit more work on more features. I mean it looks clean, simple and elegant but it could be more useful if they add a bit more to it. For other non-Huawei users, you might have to do an extra step to get it on your device. You need to install the Huawei App gallery to get the lastest version of the AI Life App.

So, the question that needs to be answered, should you get the Huawei FreeBuds Studio? Well, that's if you're willing to look past the Php 15,000 tag price. Again, this type of headphone belongs to the top noise-cancelling headphone tiers that is available for consumers. Not sure if it's worth if if it'll be used and abused on a daily basis but what I can say is that the sound quality in this wireless ANC headphone is very good and balance. May it be movies or tv shows and all types of music from heavy to lighter ones, this one takes the cake for me. The design and comfort are some of the things I liked and I shared on previous posts. So if you ask me, is it worth it? I would say yes. But, the real question is, will it last? I expect for it to last longer than expected because of its solid build and construction.
