Yahoo! Launches Purple Hunt For The Whole Family

MANILA, 3 October, 2011 –  Yahoo! is at it again, after the success of two earlier campaigns, Yahoo! the premier digital media company together with co-presenter Globe Telecom, announced the launch of Purple Hunt 3.0 Family Edition http://purplehunt.com.phlast October 3 in Manila. What is up you ask? Not only are they there  bring the whole family together in a united effort on responsible surfing, they also have some giveaways to the participants, and you ask me what? oh nothing, just a chance to win a Presidio condominium unit at Lakefront from Camella Condo Homes.  Airphil Express, McDonalds, MyPhone and SM North Edsa also join Yahoo! on this fun, family-friendly online treasure hunt.

The hunt is a four-week long online adventure, aiming to bring the whole family together to explore the Web, discover the various Yahoo! properties and spend quality time bonding. Guided by three values: Pledge together; Surf together; Play together, the treasure hunt is a fun experience that promotes responsible use of the Internet by educating parents and their children about online safety and netiquette, while standing a chance to win exciting prizes. This includes Globe Tattoo Prepaid Broadband Stick, Flight tickets to Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu, Busuanga, Cagayan de Oro and Singapore from Airphil Express, McDonald’s Birthday Party Packages and MyPhone mobile phones.

So what is needed to qualify? A family consisting of at least one parent and one child above the age of 13 is eligible to participate in the treasure hunt by following three simple steps: signing up, creating a team and taking the Yahoo! Safely pledge. Each team will then complete a set of assignments using different Yahoo! properties to unlock a series of clues revealed at various times in a day on associated social media sites, offsite locations and traditional media channels.

It informs parents, educators and young adults about how to minimize risks online and on mobile devices, and provides guidance on how to use specific Yahoo! products safely.
