Jollibee Group Wins Two Golden Arrows Again at the 2026 ICD Awards

We usually talk about Jollibee in terms of Chickenjoy and spaghetti, but here's some business news worth knowing. Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), also known as the Jollibee Group, has once again been recognized for strong corporate governance.

Two Golden Arrows, again
At the 2026 Golden Arrow Awards by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), JFC received two Golden Arrows for the second year in a row. It also marks the Group's fifth consecutive Golden Arrow recognition.

Jollibee Group Philippine General Counsel Atty. Vem King received the award during the ceremony at the Makati Shangri-La on October 23, 2026.

How the award works
The Golden Arrow Awards recognize Philippine publicly listed companies that meet the standards of the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). JFC's recognition is based on its 2025 ACGS assessment, where it improved its score from the previous year.

The scorecard looks at five areas:
  • Rights and equitable treatment of shareholders
  • Sustainability and resilience
  • Stakeholder relations
  • Disclosure and transparency
  • Strategic guidance and oversight of the board
A company needs at least 75 points to earn a Golden Arrow.

"As we continue to grow, we remain focused on governance practices that support our business priorities, strengthen accountability and transparency, and create long-term value for our stakeholders," said Ernesto Tanmantiong, Jollibee Group Global President and CEO.

A global Filipino company
It's easy to forget how big the Jollibee Group has become. It now manages 20 brands with over 10,700 stores and cafés across 33 countries. Its wholly owned brands include Jollibee, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, Mang Inasal, Smashburger and Tim Ho Wan, alongside franchised brands like Burger King and Panda Express in the Philippines. It also holds stakes in The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Compose Coffee and Highlands Coffee.

A quick explainer on governance
Corporate governance is basically how a company is directed and kept in check. Who makes decisions, how shareholders are treated, how open a company is about its finances and how the board oversees management. Good governance tends to mean fewer surprises for investors and a more stable company over the long run.

Why it matters
Governance isn't the most exciting topic, but it matters. For investors, employees and partners, strong governance means a company is run with accountability and transparency. For a Filipino brand with this much global reach, five straight Golden Arrows is a good sign that growth is being handled responsibly.

It's the kind of milestone that makes you a little prouder the next time you order a bucket of Chickenjoy abroad.
