Manulife Philippines Wins CFI.co Sustainability & Quill Awards | Mix of Everything
Manulife Philippines has earned dual honors from international and local bodies, recognizing its integrated community investment initiatives and thought leadership in financial preparedness and longevity.
The company was named Champion of Sustainable Community Impact Asia 2026 by London-based publication Capital Finance International (CFI.co). Concurrently, it received a Philippine Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC Philippines) for its multi-channel communications campaign, "Filipinos' Evolving View on Longevity: Accelerating Longevity Thought Leadership in the Philippine Life Insurance Sector."
Key Initiatives & Program Milestones
Manulife Peso Smart: Launched in 2017, this flagship financial literacy program has educated over 4,000 students across 18 public elementary schools, teaching core concepts in budgeting, saving, and insurance. Program coverage is set to expand to 26 schools in 2026 and 30 schools in 2027.
Sustainable Livelihoods & Restoration: Through a tripartite partnership with the Haribon Foundation and the Corazon Sanchez Atayde Memorial Foundation, Peso Smart now equips local farming communities with financial skills. This ties into the Manulife Impact Forests project, which supported the planting of over 31,000 seedlings (including 5,000 mangroves) across Quezon and Zambales.
Longevity Thought Leadership: Supported by global insights from the Asia Care Survey 2025 and the proprietary #FYP: Future-Proofing Young Pinoys study, Manulife's campaign reframed aging around health, purpose, and financial independence. The initiative culminated in "Time to Move: The Manulife Longevity Symposium," uniting industry leaders and experts to encourage early financial and health planning.
"For nearly 120 years, Manulife has stood alongside Filipinos. These awards matter because they reflect the difference we make in the lives of the farmers, students, and families we seek to improve. Whether through financial literacy, environmental restoration, or advancing the national conversation on longevity, our commitment is to creating lasting improvements in people’s financial security, resilience, and well-being." — Rahul Hora, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Philippines
