The evolution of personal audio has long oscillated between two extremes: clinical studio equipment that prioritizes flat reproduction at the expense of lifestyle design, and consumer headphones that prioritize aesthetic flair over acoustic precision. With the global reveal of the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro, London-based technology company Nothing is attempting to erase that dichotomy entirely—pairing a highly sophisticated acoustic architecture with a headline-grabbing pop-culture partnership.
Leading this new milestone is V of BTS (Kim Tae-hyung), who officially joins Nothing as its newest Global Brand Ambassador. Shot in Seoul by photographer Dorothea Sing Zhang, the debut campaign spotlights V’s creative process, sonic experimentation, and artistic versatility alongside Nothing's signature transparent, design-led engineering.
An Uncompromising Acoustic Architecture
Having spent nearly two decades testing, reviewing, and analyzing consumer electronics across every major brand, it is rare to see a consumer-facing over-ear headphone depart so radically from conventional driver design. Where the majority of flagship consumer headphones rely on a single 40mm dynamic driver per ear cup to process the entirety of the sound spectrum, the Headphone (1) Pro splits that workload across a dedicated triple-driver architecture:
- 40mm Dynamic Bass Driver: Engineered specifically for deep, clean low-end frequency response without bleeding into mid-range clarity.
- Precision Dynamic Driver: Dedicated exclusively to handling the midrange, ensuring vocal intimacy and instrument separation remain clear and forward.
- Treble xMEMS Driver: Utilizing a solid-state silicon diaphragm, this micro-speaker driver provides rapid transient response for high-frequency detail up to 40kHz.
To further appeal to audio purists and content creators, Nothing collaborated with London’s legendary Metropolis Studios. The Headphone (1) Pro incorporates a physical Flat EQ Switch on the hardware itself, allowing users to instantly bypass active sound processing to hear audio in its pure, flat mixing profile. Additionally, the unit features a "Studio B" Dynamic Spatial Audio mode designed to simulate the acoustic characteristics of Metropolis’ flagship mixing suite.
Craftsmanship, Active Noise Cancellation & Battery
The physical construction upgrades the brand's aesthetic language, substituting high-grade polymers with 9H Panda Glass panels over each ear cup to showcase the interior driver layout. The internal chassis combines structural titanium and aluminum elements, maintaining structural integrity while keeping the overall headset weight to a light 327 grams.
For ambient control, the Headphone (1) Pro deploys a 10-microphone array driving an adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system capable of up to 46dB of noise attenuation. Internal ear cushions feature an 8mm silicone baffle wall to create an acoustic seal, preventing audio bleed and enhancing passive isolation.
On the battery side, the headset offers up to 68 hours of continuous playback (ANC off) and features IP52 water and dust resistance, alongside fast USB-C charging and Hi-Res Wireless playback support.
"I'm excited to be part of this bold new chapter with Nothing. Headphone (1) Pro is a design grounded in creative expression, and I look forward to our journey together." — V (Kim Tae-hyung)
"V embodies fearless experimentation. Headphone (1) Pro was built to give people freedom and flexibility in listening. He was the perfect choice as we define technical excellence for the next generation of creatives." — Carl Pei, Co-Founder and CEO of Nothing
