For many Filipinos, a trip to IKEA Pasay City is more than just shopping for home essentials, it’s about spending time with family, enjoying good food, finding inspiration, and imagining a better everyday life at home. This year, that uniquely Filipino experience earned global recognition as IKEA Pasay City was named IKEA Store of the Year 2025, one of the highest honors given among hundreds of IKEA stores worldwide.
The milestone marks a proud moment not only for the brand, but also for the Philippines, as IKEA Pasay became one of the few stores globally to receive the prestigious recognition for exceptional retail performance and customer experience.
At the heart of the win is IKEA Pasay City’s deep understanding of how Filipinos live, shop, dine, and connect. By creating a store experience that feels relatable, welcoming, and lifestyle-driven, the team successfully transformed everyday retail into something meaningful for customers.
“When we won Store of the Year, we were speechless in the best possible way,” shared Daniel Rivero, IKEA Pasay Store Manager. “This is an incredible achievement for the team in the Philippines. Their passion, commitment, and togetherness truly shine through. The recognition is both affirming and emotionally rewarding for us all.”
To celebrate the historic achievement, IKEA Pasay transformed its Swedish Restaurant into a Hall of Fame-inspired venue on May 14, 2026, honoring the remarkable co-workers behind the success. The celebration featured a Champion’s Walk runway alongside a gallery showcasing notable Filipino achievers, a fitting tribute to local excellence on the world stage.
Adding excitement to the event were distinguished guests including Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey, Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz, and Michelin-starred chef Josh Boutwood, who shared stories about perseverance, passion, and their own journeys to success.
As part of the recognition, IKEA Pasay City also secured a permanent place in the Store of the Year Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, 12 outstanding co-workers from IKEA Philippines will travel to IKEA Headquarters in Älmhult, Sweden for a special learning journey designed to deepen their connection to IKEA’s culture and values.
For Ricardo Pinheiro, IKEA Philippines Country Retail Manager, the recognition goes beyond impressive numbers and sales milestones.
“I am happy to congratulate IKEA Pasay City for standing out a little extra by showing what it means to combine performance with heart,” he said. “What impresses me most isn’t just the results, it’s the mindset. A commitment to people, values, and everyday retail excellence.”
That mindset has helped IKEA Pasay City create an experience that feels both globally recognized and distinctly Filipino. From understanding local shopping habits to ensuring customers enjoy affordable meals while browsing the store, the team focused on making every visit comfortable, efficient, and memorable.
Pinheiro added that retail excellence comes from consistently doing ordinary things well every day: prioritizing people, understanding customers, and treating food, service, and care as essential parts of the IKEA experience.
Even small improvements made a significant impact. Through a sharper focus on add-on sales in the showroom and Market Hall, the team increased articles sold per transaction to nearly 17 items.
By the end of 2025, IKEA Pasay City achieved yet another milestone by selling more IKEA home furnishing pieces than any other IKEA store in the world — a testament to the team’s disciplined routines, operational excellence, and strong connection with Filipino consumers.
For a store built around making everyday life better for many people, the recognition feels deeply earned and shared by the community it serves.
To continue the celebration, IKEA Pasay will roll out its “Winning Offer” promo from May 14 to 31, 2026, giving customers discounts on select furniture and home décor pieces.
