As the Philippines continues to strengthen its position in the digital economy, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres Philippines (STT GDC Philippines) is once again investing in people with the launch of DC Power-Up 2.0, a refreshed training and certification program designed to help aspiring Filipino professionals step confidently into the fast-growing data center industry.

Now in its second run, the program welcomed 27 participants, doubling its initial intake while still keeping a focused, hands-on learning environment. Over three intensive days, participants were given complimentary access to the Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC), a globally recognized certification that introduces the fundamentals of data center operations and infrastructure.

More than just a training course, DC Power-Up 2.0 is shaping up as a launchpad for careers. All participants across both program runs have successfully passed the certification exam, and top graduates from this latest batch were even offered employment opportunities, highlighting the program’s direct impact in bridging education and real-world industry demand.

The initiative also reflects STT GDC Philippines’ commitment to inclusivity and workforce development. This year’s cohort showed improved gender diversity, reinforcing the company’s goal of making the data center space more accessible to a broader talent pool.

“DC Power-Up 2.0 reflects our commitment to supporting the development of Filipino professionals who can contribute to the country’s digital infrastructure ecosystem,” said Carlo Malana, President and CEO of STT GDC Philippines. “As the data center industry expands, investing in local capabilities remains an important part of building a resilient and sustainable sector.”

The program is delivered in partnership with EPI Group, a globally accredited data center training provider, ensuring that participants gain industry-aligned knowledge that meets international standards.

“As a globally accredited provider of data centre training and certification, we are proud of our close collaboration with STT GDC Philippines on the DC Power-Up program,” said Edward van Leent, Chairman and CEO of EPI Group. “Through this initiative, participants gain globally recognized foundational knowledge that supports their entry into the data center industry.”

With DC Power-Up 2.0, STT GDC Philippines continues to reinforce its dual focus: expanding digital infrastructure while empowering the next generation of Filipino tech professionals to grow alongside it.
