This January 29, Yakumi at Solaire Resort Entertainment City invites guests to slow down, sip thoughtfully, and savor the artistry of Japanese cuisine with an exclusive Sake & Wine Dinner, happening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Designed as a relaxed yet refined evening, the one-night-only experience brings together beautifully crafted dishes and a carefully curated selection of premium sake and wine.

Held during Japan’s sake brewing season—when colder temperatures bring out deeper, more balanced flavors, the dinner features a six-course menu paired with four sake selections and two wines. In collaboration with Philippine Wine Merchants, each pairing has been thoughtfully chosen to enhance the natural flavors of every dish, allowing both food and drink to complement one another seamlessly.
The evening begins with a traditional tuna-cutting ceremony, followed by a fresh tuna tasting pass-around and welcome cocktails, setting the tone for an immersive culinary journey. Guests then enjoy a special menu created by Executive Japanese Chef Jin Suzuki, whose decades of experience and mastery of Japanese cuisine shine through every course. Blending tradition, seasonality, and modern technique, Chef Suzuki transforms each dish into an expression of precision, balance, and flavor.

Using seasonal ingredients and meticulous preparation, the menu highlights familiar Japanese flavors elevated with refined touches. Standout dishes include Seared Toro, known for its rich, melt-in-the-mouth texture, and Teppanyaki Wagyu Rump, expertly cooked to bring out its natural depth and tenderness. The evening concludes on a light, refreshing note with an amazake mousse paired with “Mio” sparkling sake.

Other dishes on the menu include Crab Sushi made with king and blue crab meat, topped with egg yolk and served with truffle soy, paired with Bouchard Père & Fils Pouilly-Fuissé 2020. Alfonsino Arare-age is served crisp with bottarga powder and aosa sauce, paired with Solaire Junmai Daiginjo by Kagamiyama, while char-grilled Buri—marinated, gently grilled, and finished with roasted shichimi and ikura is paired with Daishichi Junmai Kimoto Classic.

Yakumi’s Sake & Wine Dinner is an intimate, one-night-only experience perfect for diners looking to explore Japanese flavors, discover thoughtful pairings, and enjoy a memorable evening in one of Manila’s most elegant dining destinations.
