OPPO has officially unveiled the global winners of the 2025 OPPO Photography Awards, celebrating the art of visual storytelling and the power of mobile photography to turn everyday moments into something extraordinary. Now in its third year, the international competition reached a new milestone, drawing nearly two million entries from 87 countries, making it the biggest edition in the awards’ history.
Winning photographs will be showcased during the global finale in Cairo, Egypt, on December 18, 2025, where creators from around the world will come together to celebrate diverse perspectives, cultures, and stories, all captured through the lens of a smartphone.
“Mobile photography is more than a tool—it has become a global stage for creative voices,” said Ling Liu, OPPO Overseas CMO. “Through the OPPO Photography Awards, we want to empower creators, amplify their perspectives, and inspire people everywhere to discover the extraordinary hidden in everyday life, the true meaning of ‘Super Every Moment.’”
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Winners: Life, Culture, and Emotion in Focus
This year, ten photographers received Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards for their compelling visual narratives that blend emotion, culture, and creativity.
The Gold Award was presented to boooya for “Dialect – The Fading Voice,” a deeply moving visual project that translates the fading presence of dialects into powerful imagery. From traditional opera performances to scenes highlighting the growing language gap between generations, the series documents a cultural heritage at risk. The jury praised its emotional depth and social relevance, noting that “the disappearance of language is the disappearance of culture.” For this winning entry, boooya received a USD 25,000 grand prize along with OPPO’s latest flagship devices.
Among the Silver Award winners is Ray Cheung from China for “Person from Another Place,” shot on the OPPO Find X8 Ultra. The image captures a quiet moment of introspection—a young girl gazing out from a bus window in wintery St. Petersburg. Judge Tina Signesdottir Hult described the photograph as “art,” highlighting its simplicity, emotional balance, and poetic stillness.
The Bronze Award honorees showcased rich cultural narratives from around the world, including Abdullah Salah’s “Timeless Framing,” taken on the OPPO Reno14 5G. The photograph freezes a powerful moment from Egypt’s centuries-old El Mermah equestrian tradition, capturing speed, intensity, and heritage in a single frame.
Together, the top-winning works highlight just how far mobile photography has come. As one judge remarked, it was almost hard to believe these emotionally rich and technically refined images were captured using smartphone cameras.
Expanded Categories, More Voices
The 2025 OPPO Photography Awards also introduced expanded submission categories, allowing more creators to be recognized. This year, 60 photographers received honors across Category Awards, Honorable Mentions, Audience’s Choice, and Regional Awards, reinforcing OPPO’s commitment to showcasing diverse voices from across the globe.

From intimate subway moments and playful childhood scenes to families at work during harvest season, the winning images reflect the beauty of everyday life as seen through local lenses. Each photograph offers a glimpse into authentic human experiences shaped by culture, place, and emotion.
Mobile Photography as a Universal Language
At the heart of this year’s awards is OPPO’s belief that meaningful stories are found in ordinary moments. Powered by the LUMO Image Engine, OPPO smartphones deliver natural light, depth, and detail, allowing creators to capture stories that feel personal, human, and true to life.
Aligned with this year’s theme, “Super Every Moment,” the OPPO Photography Awards continues to grow as a global platform that nurtures creativity and celebrates the beauty of everyday storytelling.
