Get a closer look at the Xiaomi 15T Series launch in the Philippines. From its Leica-powered cameras to advanced connectivity and sleek design, here’s my first-hand experience at the event and with the products.
I got the chance to attend the launch of the Xiaomi 15T Series at the Maybank Theatre in BGC. At the center of the launch were two new models: the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. Both devices continue Xiaomi’s partnership with Leica, featuring a triple-camera system built for different shooting styles. The Xiaomi 15T Pro stood out for its Leica 5x Pro telephoto camera, which supports 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Ultra Zoom. Testing it during the event, I found the zoom impressive even under low light, thanks to the large Light Fusion 900 sensor and the wide f/1.62 aperture. The Xiaomi 15T, on the other hand, offers a main, ultra-wide, and telephoto setup with versatile focal lengths from 15mm to 92mm, perfect for wide shots or tighter portraits.
Both models also use Xiaomi’s new AISP 2.0 computational photography platform. While testing the portrait mode on-site, I noticed how natural the background blur looked, especially with the new Master Portrait effects that add subtle bokeh styles like Wide and Bubbles. Even the Leica street photography mode, which lets you quickly shoot from the lock screen, felt responsive and fun to use. For video, the Xiaomi 15T Pro takes things further with 4K 120fps recording and 10-bit Log for post-production flexibility, a feature content creators will appreciate.
Beyond the cameras, Xiaomi also emphasized connectivity. The 15T Series debuts Xiaomi Astral Communication, which includes Offline Communication. This feature lets you communicate directly between Xiaomi 15T devices even without Wi-Fi or cellular signals, something I found very practical for outdoor trips or emergencies. The 15T Pro can handle distances up to 1.9km, while the 15T reaches 1.3km. Combined with HyperOS 3, which brings a refreshed interface and better multitasking, the phones feel designed for both urban and off-grid lifestyles.
The display was another highlight. The Xiaomi 15T Pro sports a 6.83-inch screen with ultra-thin bezels and up to 144Hz refresh rate. Holding it at the event, I noticed how bright and crisp the display was even under the theater’s lights; its 3200-nit peak brightness really shows. The Xiaomi 15T also offers a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and eye-friendly PWM dimming, which I think will appeal to users who spend long hours on their phones.
Powering all this is a 5500mAh battery on both models. The Xiaomi 15T Pro supports 90W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge, while the 15T gets 67W wired charging. During the demo, Xiaomi showed how the phones could power on within seconds even after running flat, which is reassuring for heavy users. Under the hood, the Dimensity 9400+ (Pro) and Dimensity 8400-Ultra (15T) processors, plus a new 3D IceLoop cooling system, are designed to keep things smooth and cool during gaming or multitasking.

Xiaomi also introduced the Xiaomi Pad Mini at the event, a compact 8.8-inch tablet built for productivity and AI-powered features. It integrates tools like AI Writing, AI Interpreter, and even Google Gemini support. I tried its screen and stylus support briefly; it felt like a convenient companion for those who want a lighter device for work or content consumption.

Price-wise, the Xiaomi 15T Pro starts at ₱37,999 and the 15T at ₱26,999, with early bird promos including free Smart Bands on Lazada and Shopee until October 10. The Xiaomi Pad Mini also launched with an early bird price of ₱22,999 and a free cover until October 13.

The launch gave me a clear picture of how Xiaomi is positioning the 15T Series as more than just another flagship phone. The cameras are genuinely exciting, the connectivity features are practical, and the design feels refined without being over the top. It’s not only a phone for content creators but also for anyone who values flexibility and reliability in their daily devices.
