Discover my experience at the Big Bad Wolf Books 2025 Sale at The Filinvest Tent, Alabang. Over 2 million books, huge discounts, and tips to make the most of Metro Manila’s final stop.
I recently attended the press conference for the Big Bad Wolf Books 2025 Sale at The Filinvest Tent in Alabang, where the event itself will also take place this coming October. Being at the press launch gave me a firsthand look at what’s in store for Metro Manila’s last stop of the world’s biggest book sale for 2025. Running from October 2 to 13, this highly anticipated event will feature over 2 million books across every genre, making it perfect for early holiday shopping or simply stocking up on fresh reads.
Walking into the venue, I was greeted by long rows of tables filled with books: children’s titles, gripping thrillers, self-help favorites, and even collectibles that you’d rarely find in regular bookstores. What I liked most was how easy it was to explore. The layout made browsing stress-free despite the crowd, and the prices were a big draw. For example, Abby Jimenez’s The Friend Zone dropped from Php 800 to Php 340, and Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point was just Php 400 from its original Php 1,400. As a reader, seeing those discounts felt like striking gold.
I also noticed how much effort Big Bad Wolf Books put into making books accessible. During the press event, Bernard Lee, Business Director of Big Bad Wolf Books, shared that their mission is to make books affordable and break down barriers to reading. Ley Almeda, the Country Head for the Philippines, also emphasized that books should never be a luxury but a right, and being at the sale, it really showed.
Aside from the discounts, there were plenty of reasons to spend the whole day there. Exclusive promos and raffle prizes (including a chance to win an iPad or even a bookshelf packed with books) added extra excitement.
If you’re planning to go, my advice is to visit early. The sale opens at 10 AM and continues until late evening, but the best titles tend to sell out quickly. Bring a tote bag or even a small suitcase if you’re planning a big haul. I learned this the hard way after carrying stacks of books by hand!
