Godox has officially launched in the Philippines with an immersive creative event at Shooting Gallery Studios, Makati. Here’s a look at the highlights, new ambassadors, and why this matters for Filipino photographers, videographers, and creators.
I had the chance to attend the official launch of Godox in the Philippines, which took place on August 19, 2025, at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as it coincided with World Photography Day, bringing together photographers, videographers, filmmakers, and content creators for a celebration of creativity and innovation.
Walking into the venue, I could immediately feel the energy of the community. It wasn’t just a typical product launch; it felt more like a creative hub where professionals and enthusiasts alike could connect, share, and explore what Godox has to offer. Throughout the day, we gained a closer look at Godox’s latest lighting technologies, many of which have already been trusted by industry leaders worldwide.
Since its founding in 1993, Godox has built a reputation for making professional lighting solutions more accessible. Whether for studio shoots, events, or even large-scale productions, the brand has become a go-to for reliable, high-quality lighting. With its official entry into the Philippine market through JG Distribution, local creators now have direct access to tools that can truly elevate their craft.
For me, this launch feels like more than just the arrival of a brand; it’s an investment in our growing creative industry. As someone who often works with cameras and creative tools, having a trusted lighting brand available locally makes a big difference in how we approach projects.
Event Highlights and Insights
The program opened with warm remarks from Jill Tan, Founder and Vice President of JG Distribution, followed by talks from Ally Xiong of Godox Global and Mulawin Galang, Godox Philippines Brand Manager, who walked us through the vision and products. What stood out to me was how the event wasn’t just about showcasing gear; it was also about celebrating the people who use it.
One of the strongest points of the launch was hearing testimonial videos from CMB Film Services Inc. and RSVP Film Studios, two well-known equipment rental companies in the Philippines. Hearing professionals like Kirk Baltazar and Rafa Laperal share how Godox lighting has become a key part of their workflow gave me confidence that this brand isn’t just hype; it’s tried and tested in real production environments.
The event also introduced the first batch of Godox Ambassadors in the Philippines, which includes names I’ve admired in the creative industry, such as Abigail Miguel, Artu Nepomuceno, Jay Tablante, and Toto Villaruel. Seeing these respected creators represent Godox makes the launch even more meaningful, as it shows the brand’s commitment to collaborating with local talent.
Aside from the formal program, I really enjoyed the interactive “touch and try” stations, where we could test the lights ourselves. It was a hands-on way to see how Godox can work in real scenarios, from photography setups to cinematic lighting. The day ended with fun activities, raffle prizes, and even a live performance from Mayonnaise, which gave the event a relaxed and celebratory vibe.
Building a Creative Community
What struck me most about the Godox launch was its emphasis on community. It was about creating a space where Filipino creatives can be inspired, equipped, and connected. As Jill Tan said during the program, “This launch is more than just about products, it’s about building a community where Filipino creators can be inspired, equipped, and empowered.”
The arrival of Godox in the Philippines is a big win for our creative community. It opens doors for both professionals and beginners to access world-class lighting solutions without the hassle of sourcing from abroad.
If you’re a photographer, videographer, or someone who simply wants to level up your content creation, this is definitely a brand worth keeping an eye on. With Godox now officially here, the possibilities for local creatives just got brighter, literally and figuratively.
