American Standard launches the 4th edition of the American Standard Design Award 2026, inviting APAC architecture and interior design students to design the bathroom of the future under the theme “Inspiring Everyday Living.”
LIXIL’s global power brand, American Standard, officially launches the fourth edition of the American Standard Design Award (ASDA) 2026, a bathroom space design competition that gives young designers across the Asia-Pacific region the chance to showcase their creativity and bring fresh perspectives to future living spaces.
This year’s edition holds special significance as American Standard celebrates its 150th anniversary, marking a century and a half of creating purposeful designs inspired by real life. For 2026, the competition is guided by the theme “Inspiring Everyday Living,” challenging future architects and interior designers to reimagine residential bathrooms as spaces that not only meet functional needs but also serve as meaningful extensions of how people live, connect, and find comfort in their daily lives.
“The ASDA has always been about purposeful innovation, and as we celebrate 150 years of design excellence, we are proud to inspire the next generation of designers to think about the bathroom as a place of bonding, solace, and memorable experiences,” said Antoine Besseyre des Horts, Leader of LIXIL Global Design, Asia. He emphasized that the brand’s legacy is rooted in dependable design and pioneering technology that enriches everyday living.
The 2025 competition attracted nearly 3,500 registrations and over 1,000 submissions from nine countries, reflecting the growing interest among young talents to contribute new ideas to modern living spaces. This year, ASDA 2026 remains open to full-time undergraduate students majoring in architecture or interior design from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Registration is free, and entries must be submitted by January 4, 2026. National winners will be announced in April 2026, with the finalists moving on to compete for the APAC Grand Prize in May 2026. Cash prizes await the top three winners at the national level, ranging from USD 1,000 to USD 2,000, while the APAC Grand Prize winner will receive an additional USD 3,000 and the opportunity to attend an exclusive Masterclass led by LIXIL Design Leaders.
