Xiaomi Launches MIX Flip 2: A Refined Flip Phone With Power, Style, and Bigger Upgrades

Xiaomi has officially launched the MIX Flip 2, a refined foldable phone featuring a sleek design, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, improved battery life, and powerful dual 50MP cameras.
Xiaomi has officially unveiled the MIX Flip 2 in China, the latest in its foldable smartphone lineup. After weeks of teasers and leaks, the announcement at their recent launch event confirmed what fans had been waiting for: a refined device that improves nearly every detail compared to its predecessor.

The MIX Flip 2 retains the flip-style folding design but with several important enhancements. The most visible change is the cover screen, which now extends further into the bezels and has grown slightly by 0.1 inches, making it more useful for quick interactions and notifications. Meanwhile, the inner display remains a spacious 6.86 inches, giving users a compact phone when closed and a full-screen experience when unfolded.
Both the cover and main displays support the P3 wide color gamut, boast a 120Hz refresh rate, and reach a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, which means visibility won’t be a problem even in bright sunlight. The cover screen has a touch sampling rate of 120Hz, while the inner screen offers a smoother 300Hz sampling rate for improved responsiveness during gaming or multitasking.
Performance is also getting a boost. Xiaomi powers the MIX Flip 2 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with a dual vapor chamber cooling system to keep things cool even during heavy use. This makes it suitable not just for casual browsing or photography but also for gaming and productivity tasks.

Battery life has seen a significant upgrade. The MIX Flip 2 comes with a 5,165mAh Xiaomi GSR battery, an improvement over last year's 4,780mAh pack. Charging is fast and flexible, thanks to 67W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
The camera system is another area where Xiaomi made key changes. Instead of the previous 1x + 2x setup, the MIX Flip 2 now includes a 23mm f/1.7 wide-angle camera with a 50MP 1/1.55-inch OV50E sensor, paired with a 14mm f/2.2 ultrawide lens, also 50MP, with autofocus and macro capabilities that let you shoot as close as 5cm. On the front, there's a 32MP selfie camera capable of recording in 4K, which will appeal to vloggers and video callers alike.

The hinge design also gets an upgrade. Xiaomi has introduced a new three-link, four-float plate structure, allowing the phone to close more flatly and minimize screen creasing, a common issue in foldable phones.
In terms of design, the MIX Flip 2 is available in four elegant colors: Lattice Gold, Shell White, Nebula Purple, and Plum Green. It comes in three configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB, and a premium 16GB RAM with 1TB storage option. Xiaomi has also bundled a USB cable, a two-piece protective case, and a 67W charger in the box.
As for pricing, the MIX Flip 2 starts at CNY 5,999 (roughly €715 / £610 / INR 71,600) for the base model, CNY 6,499 for the 12/512GB version, and CNY 7,299 for the top-tier 16GB/1TB variant.
With the MIX Flip 2, Xiaomi has taken the formula of a stylish and compact foldable and elevated it across the board, from display and performance to battery life and camera quality. If you're thinking about switching to a flip phone in 2025, this is definitely one of the strongest options out there.
