New clues and leaks suggest Leon Kennedy may return as the main character in Resident Evil Requiem.
Capcom has finally lifted the curtain on Resident Evil Requiem, and the internet hasn’t stopped buzzing since. Unveiled during the Summer Game Fest on June 6, the new trailer dropped just enough hints to get fans digging for clues and now, more evidence than ever points to the return of one of the franchise’s most beloved characters: Leon S. Kennedy.
While the trailer officially introduced us to Grace Ashcroft, a new playable character and daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak, many fans believe she won’t be the only one taking the spotlight. The biggest reason? Clues scattered throughout the announcement trailer suggest Leon might be making a major comeback.
For longtime fans of the series, Leon needs no introduction. He was the face of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4, two of the most popular games in the franchise. His calm demeanor and action-hero appeal have made him a favorite, and players have been eager to see him return in a major role.
One of the first clues comes from the trailer itself. Sharp-eyed viewers noticed a worn-out Jeep parked in front of the Raccoon City Police Department. Fans quickly recognized it as the same vehicle Leon used in previous titles. In another scene, a blurred photo hanging on a wall appears to resemble Leon from Resident Evil 6, which adds to the speculation.
But beyond visual hints, a trusted voice in the community has added fuel to the fire. AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, has claimed that Leon will be the main character in Resident Evil Requiem. He has a solid track record when it comes to Resident Evil leaks, which gives weight to his statement.
Another interesting discovery comes from Nick Apostolides, the actor who has voiced Leon in his most recent appearances. On his personal website, he lists involvement in a new "AAA video game" but cannot reveal its title due to a non-disclosure agreement. This timing has fans convinced that he’s already working on Resident Evil Requiem.
Despite all these signs, Capcom hasn’t made anything official yet. For now, we know that Resident Evil Requiem will return to Raccoon City and will feature at least one new protagonist. Whether Leon will join her as the central character or share the narrative is still a mystery—but the evidence is stacking up fast.
As always, fans will be watching closely for updates. Until then, the community will keep speculating, analyzing, and hoping for Leon Kennedy’s full return.
