PUMA leaps back in Time to give us this '80s-Inspired Collection

PUMA has revealed a new collection, from the 80s to the present day. With the Bluebird as the main shoe being featured, and themed around three locations, St. Petersburg, Amsterdam and New York.

If you're not familiar with the PUMA Bluebird, you trace it back to the UK in the laste '70s and early '80s. It may have some similarities as other Puma classics, the Puma Bluebird has a gum sole which contributes to the uniqueness of the shoe (and also hard-to-find). Many elements were adapted from the vintage version. The shoe became a terrace wear (80’s soccer culture in the United Kingdom) staple during the early 1980s. The sneaker takes its name from the soccer firm Cardiff City Soul Crew, who are affectionately known as the Bluebirds.

For the St. Petersburg release, Puma pays homage to the Russian port city of St.Petersburg with the Bluebird St.Petersburg - a bold palette of red and blue sit upon a classic rich suede upper and a OG gum sole. Vibrant red and blue, Suede uppers with Gold embossed branding.

The Amsterdam sneaker, mostly bright orange colorway, inspired by the PUMA Cruyjff Royal which is a signature sneaker of legendary footballer Johan Cruyjff.

And for the NYC-themed release, PUMA has continued its sporting influence. This time referencing a 1-of-1 sneaker made for American football quarterback and Hall of Famer Joe Namath in the 1970s, the sneaker features a white upper with light blue detailing.

The last one is the Madrid London. Having that eye-catching purple and orange colorway references the first Madrid release back in 1983. It has a suede upper leather overlays and gold foiling and of course, the classic gum rubber sole.

Now the question is, is it going to be available in the Philippines. I guess there's only one way to find out :)
