Apple Unveils Redesigned MacBook Pro Featuring Breakthrough PROLED XDR Display, Integrated Touch, and M5 Pro & M5 Max Chips
Apple has announced its most advanced professional laptop lineup to date, headlined by the introduction of the groundbreaking PROLED XDR display and intuitive Touch interactions built directly into the Mac experience. Available in sleek 14-inch and 16-inch form factors, the new MacBook Pro models combine extreme visual fidelity, massive thermal and battery efficiency, and the raw computational power of the M5 Pro and M5 Max processors.
Designed for creative professionals, developers, scientists, and power users, the latest generation delivers desktop-class performance while shedding physical bulk, achieving thinner, lighter aluminum designs without compromising sustained workloads.
PROLED XDR: The World’s Best Laptop Display
The defining hardware innovation of the new MacBook Pro is the debut of PROLED XDR, an industry-first tandem OLED architecture engineered to provide unprecedented front-of-screen performance for color-critical workflows.
MACBOOK PRO WITH PROLED XDR HIGHLIGHTS
DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY - Tandem OLED panel with custom display engine supporting 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio
BRIGHTNESS - Up to 2000 nits peak HDR and SDR brightness
COLOR GAMUT - P3 and Adobe RGB coverage (>80% Rec. 2020)
REFRESH RATE - ProMotion adaptive 10Hz to 120Hz refresh rate |
Exceptional Brightness & Contrast: Reaching up to 2000 nits of peak brightness alongside a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, the display delivers extraordinary highlight luminance and deepest-black shadow precision.
Pro-Grade Color Accuracy: Features comprehensive coverage of both P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces within a single preset, accompanied by advanced factory calibration and optional nano-texture etched glass for glare reduction.
Genlock Support: Enables precise synchronization between display refresh rates and external video cameras, tailored for virtual production and on-set workflows.
Touch Arrives on Mac for the First Time
Breaking traditional notebook design boundaries, the new MacBook Pro introduces Touch capabilities directly integrated into the display panel rather than layered on top, minimizing latency for a tactile, direct-manipulation user experience.
Enhanced Workflows: Graphic designers gain an unconstrained drawing canvas, musicians can interact with polyphonic multi-touch onscreen instruments, and developers can test touch UI behavior natively.
Ecosystem Harmony: Fully optimized across native macOS 27 and major productivity applications—including Notion, Canva, Microsoft Office, Adobe Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, and Blender—automatically mapping touch inputs to responsive controls.
Dynamic Island Integration: The interactive Dynamic Island makes its Mac debut, offering at-a-glance status updates, media controls, and quick system interactions right from the top of the screen.
M5 Pro & M5 Max: Powering On-Device AI
Driven by Apple's cutting-edge M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, the new MacBook Pro handles extreme computing tasks with ease:
Neural Accelerators: Integrated directly into each GPU core to supercharge machine learning tasks, such as executing complex coding agents with large language models (LLMs) entirely on-device.
Advanced Graphics: Enhanced shader cores and third-generation ray-tracing engines deliver accelerated 3D rendering in Cinema 4D and Unreal Engine.
Massive Memory & Storage: Configurable up to 128GB of unified memory and up to a staggering 16TB of ultra-fast SSD storage.
