Apple Introduces 'Apple Home Collection': A New Suite of Smart Home Accessories in Collaboration with LG and Schneider Electric

Redefining Smart Home Simplicity, Reliability, and Privacy

Apple has officially announced the Apple Home Collection, a brand-new lineup of recommended smart home accessories designed in close collaboration with industry leaders LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.

Built to expand the Works with Apple Home and Matter ecosystems, the new suite features indoor and outdoor security cameras, smart thermostats, temperature/humidity sensors, a dual-camera video doorbell, and a smart deadbolt lock. Every accessory is engineered for effortless setup using a single tap with an iPhone, managed entirely through the Apple Home app without requiring separate third-party apps or accounts.

"Apple Home Collection makes it easy to choose smart home accessories with confidence," said Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering. "Working closely with industry leaders LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, we designed every accessory to work seamlessly with Apple Home, so managing your home is simple, reliable, and private."

1. LG Home Monitoring Cameras

• Video Doorbell: Features a dual-camera setup (2.5K front camera for visitors and full HD bottom camera for packages), built-in spotlight, and chimes routed through HomeView and HomePods.
• Floodlight Cam & Outdoor Cam: Deliver robust perimeter security equipped with adaptive dual floodlights and low-light color night vision.
• Indoor Cam: Designed with privacy in mind, it automatically tilts upward and downward to adjust viewing states when household members arrive or leave.
• iCloud+ Integration: All cameras connect with iCloud+ to offer 10 days of event video history, Apple Intelligence natural language search, and automated video descriptions.

2. LG Smart Deadbolt Lock

• Proximity Automation: Utilizes Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to sense when an authorized user with a home key on an iPhone or Apple Watch is approaching, unlocking the door automatically without tapping.
• Local Safety: Matter and Aliro compatible, operating entirely locally so core access functions remain active even during internet outages.

3. Smart Thermostats & Sensors

• Dual Options: Offered via dedicated models from both LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to match diverse home energy setups.
• Adaptive Temperature: Uses on-device iPhone intelligence to adjust heating and cooling automatically based on occupancy patterns and time of day.

Unmatched Privacy and Seamless Ecosystem Integration

True to Apple’s core principles, all products in the Apple Home Collection feature end-to-end encryption. Camera footage and personal data stored in the Home app cannot be read or accessed by Apple, LG Electronics, or Schneider Electric. Furthermore, products support Thread network connectivity to ensure stable connection even if Wi-Fi signals drop.

For customers seeking professional assistance, Apple Retail is offering optional third-party installation services through ADT in the United States starting this fall.
