Apple has officially launched the Apple Watch Series 12, placing advanced continuous wellness monitoring at the core of its latest smartwatch.
The Series 12 introduces the Health Sensing System, driven by the new S11 silicon chip. This system utilizes larger green LEDs to measure optical heart rate every five seconds and tracks Heart Rate Variability (HRV) up to 24 times more frequently. Leveraging this continuous data, watchOS 27 introduces a new Readiness Score (ranging from 0 to 10), analyzing sleep, recovery HRV, vitals, and training load to deliver actionable daily recommendations.

Additional features powered by the S11 chip include on-device Sound Recognition for deaf or hard-of-hearing users, automatic Shazam detection in the Smart Stack, and a redesigned pedometer model for more accurate step tracking. Aluminum models now feature Ceramic Shield 2 glass, and new case options include dark bronze, light gold, space gray, natural titanium, radiant gold, and ceramic finishes.

Local Regulatory Note: Sleep apnea notifications are officially supported in the Philippines at launch. Hypertension Notifications are undergoing local regulatory clearance and are scheduled to roll out next year.
