As more Filipino MSMEs continue to thrive in the digital economy, many are also feeling the growing pressure of keeping up with daily order fulfillment. Beyond selling and promoting products online, entrepreneurs are increasingly spending significant time on packing, shipping, inventory tracking, and handling returns, leaving less room to focus on business growth and creativity.
For Em Uy-Taclibon, owner of Filipino-Made Cast Iron, a one-woman cookware business based in Davao sourcing cast iron products from Cebu, this was a familiar reality. Managing everything on her own—from order packing to logistics coordination and inventory management, meant long hours spent behind the scenes of every sale.
“Nagpo-promote, nire-record sa inventory, nakakaubos ng oras, tapos kapag dumadami ang orders, ako pa rin ang nagbabalot,” Em shared. “Mabigat ‘yung products ko, kaya umaabot ng halos 15 minutes ang pag-pack ng bawat isa. Do’n ko na-realize na kailangan ko na talaga ng tulong.”
Her experience reflects a growing challenge among online sellers: as demand increases, so does operational complexity. At the same time, buyers today expect fast, accurate, and seamless delivery experiences, regardless of whether they are purchasing from a small business or a large retailer.
To help bridge this gap, Shopee introduced Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS), a service designed to handle end-to-end order fulfillment. From storage and packing to shipping and returns, FBS allows sellers to delegate operational tasks so they can focus more on growing their brand.
“As sellers grow and start receiving more orders, they need consistent support across packing, shipping, inventory movement, and returns. FBS is built to close that gap, helping sellers build the capacity to scale while giving buyers a reliable shopping experience,” said Jack Ng, Head of Commercial, Shopee Philippines.
FBS also addresses the unique geographic realities of the Philippines. With sellers and buyers spread across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, logistics can often be a challenge. Through Shopee’s warehouse network, inventory is stored closer to customers—helping reduce delivery times and improve overall efficiency. Notably, 83% of FBS buyers are located outside Metro Manila, reflecting strong nationwide demand.
For Em, moving to FBS has been a turning point. Her inventory is now stored at Shopee’s Davao warehouse, where packing and shipping are handled even when she is away from her business.
“Kahit nasa bakasyon ako, ang stocks ko nasa Shopee Davao warehouse, tuloy pa rin ang pag-asikaso sa orders. Napakalaking tulong no’n kasi mas nakakapag-focus ako sa negosyo,” she said.
With fulfillment taken care of, Em now spends more time on product sourcing, live selling, and content creation—areas that directly contribute to business growth. Orders processed through FBS also benefit from faster delivery times, typically within 3 to 5 working days, compared to 7 to 10 days for non-FBS orders in many provincial routes.
“Dahil sa Fulfilled by Shopee, na-realize ko na kaya ko pa palang palaguin ang negosyo. Mas may oras na ako ngayon maghanap ng products at mas nakikita ko na rin kung paano ko pa siya mapapalago,” Em added.
For MSMEs like Em’s, growth is no longer just about reaching more customers—it is about having the right systems in place to sustain demand, unlock new opportunities, and build businesses that can scale confidently across the Philippines.
