OPPO partners with Discovery and the Department of Tourism to highlight the T’boli of Lake Sebu in a short film shot on the Reno14 Series 5G. Celebrate Filipino culture, join the challenge, and win an OPPO Reno14 F 5G.
OPPO has teamed up with Discovery and the Department of Tourism (DOT) to present a short film that celebrates the vibrant T’boli community of Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, beautifully captured using the OPPO Reno14 Series 5G. This project is part of Discovery’s Culture in a Shot program under the 2025 theme Celebrate the Moment, which has already highlighted communities across 15 countries and regions before turning its lens to the Philippines.
The collaboration focuses on preserving the living traditions of the T’boli people by blending technology and advocacy. Using the advanced AI imaging and powerful camera system of the Reno14 Series 5G, OPPO captured the artistry and cultural legacy of the T’boli in stunning, true-to-life detail. “At OPPO, we believe technology should go beyond convenience. It should empower communities and preserve heritage. This partnership with Discovery and the Department of Tourism allows us to do just that,” said Joanarc Sales, Associate Marketing Director of OPPO Philippines.
With support from DOT Region XII and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, production was carried out in close consultation with T’boli elders, ensuring authenticity and respect through free, prior, and informed consent. The film highlights sacred practices such as the spiritual T’nalak weaving, inspired by Fu Dalu, and the intricate brasswork of Sesotunawa, both of which symbolize the creativity, resilience, and pride of the T’boli people.
Shot entirely on the OPPO Reno14 Series 5G, the film showcases ultra-clear low-light footage, stable handheld recording, and color-faithful imaging without the need for heavy equipment. More than just a technological showcase, this initiative underlines OPPO’s dedication to purposeful innovation, cultural preservation, and community empowerment.
The short film is now playing on the 3D billboard at One Bonifacio High Street, where audiences can witness the cultural story on a larger-than-life scale. Viewers are encouraged to take part in the celebration by visiting the installation, snapping creative photos, and posting them publicly on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok with the hashtags #OPPOLovesThePhilippines #OPPOReno14Series5G #MakeYourMoment #OPPOxDiscovery #OPPOCultureChallenge. One lucky participant will win a Glossy Pink OPPO Reno14 F 5G.

Filipinos are also invited to showcase their hometown culture by sharing photos and videos that highlight local traditions, destinations, and communities. These posts, tagged with the same official hashtags, may help inspire future collaborations between OPPO, Discovery, and the Department of Tourism to spotlight more Filipino stories.
