Cebuana street dancer Sam Rivera, known as Nemesis, will showcase Filipino talent at the Red Bull Dance Your Style 2025 World Finals on October 11–12 in Los Angeles.
Cebuana street dancer Sam Rivera, widely known in the freestyle dance scene as “Nemesis,” is bringing Filipino creativity and rhythm to the international stage as she competes at the Red Bull Dance Your Style 2025 World Finals. After claiming victory at the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals last May, Nemesis will now represent the Philippines in the global competition set to take place on October 11–12 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
Following months of high-energy dance battles across the world, top champions from over 50 countries will converge in Los Angeles for the ultimate one-on-one freestyle showdown. Each dancer will showcase their unique cultural influences, improvisation skills, and individual flair, making the competition both thrilling and unpredictable. Nemesis is ready to prove that Filipino street dancers have what it takes to stand tall on the biggest international stage for freestyle dance.
Coming off her win at the 2025 National Finals in Cebu, Nemesis has been rigorously training, focusing on strengthening her Krump freestyle, endurance, and stage presence. Reflecting on her preparation, she shared, “This year I’m really in it to win, but I also remind myself to have fun on stage. I just vibe with the music and trust my instincts. I don’t prepare fixed sets. I rely on body conditioning, drills, concepts, and ideas to create movements naturally.”
Nemesis also emphasized the importance of mindset, explaining, “I’m preparing myself mentally and emotionally for the pressure because LA is where the best dancers are. But I see it as an opportunity to learn from them.” Looking ahead to the World Finals, she added, “My goal is to give a performance that makes people say, ‘Wow, this is what dancers from the Philippines are like.’ As long as you give your best, the crowd will feel your energy.”
The Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals Week will run from October 7 to 11, culminating in the World Finals on October 11 at the Intuit Dome. Dancers will go head-to-head in freestyle battles, with the crowd deciding who advances. Fans can watch the event live on Red Bull TV on October 11 at 9 PM (PDT) or on October 12 at 12 PM (Philippine time).
The competition will highlight global champions, rising stars, and local dance heroes in an explosive celebration of creativity and artistry. Only one will emerge as the 2025 Red Bull Dance Your Style World Champion.
