Hotel101-Madrid, a 680-room hotel by Injap Sia and Tony Tan Caktiong, completes its topping off ceremony in just 11 months. Set to be one of Madrid’s largest hotels.
Hotel101-Madrid, the flagship international project of Hotel101 Global, marked a major milestone on Friday, April 11, 2025, with its topping off ceremony led by DoubleDragon and Mang Inasal founder Edgar "Injap" Sia II and Jollibee founder Tony Tan Caktiong. Remarkably, the ceremony comes just 11 months after the start of construction, with the 680-room hotel on track for full completion by December 2025—perfectly timed for the much-anticipated Formula 1 Grand Prix in Madrid.
Strategically located along Avenida Fuerzas Armadas in Valdebebas, Hotel101-Madrid sits on a 6,593-square-meter prime commercial property. Its location is a standout feature, offering convenient access to major landmarks: a mere 3-minute walk to Valdebebas Train Station, 4 minutes to the IFEMA convention complex, 5 minutes to the Real Madrid Sports Complex, and approximately 7 minutes to the new Madrid Barajas International Airport. These advantages make the hotel a highly attractive option for both business and leisure travelers attending events such as the F1 Grand Prix and other global conventions.

The project is set to become one of the top five largest hotels in Madrid, underscoring the ambition behind Hotel101 Global's aggressive international expansion strategy. The topping off ceremony was a celebratory affair, with construction workers enjoying a Filipino favorite—Jollibee’s iconic ChickenJoy—adding a warm, cultural touch to the event. Present at the site tour were key executives including DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Injap Sia II, DoubleDragon Co-Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong, Hotel101 Global CEO Hannah Yulo-Luccini, and representatives from Ferrovial Construcción. They were joined by notable Philippine dignitaries such as Ambassador to the WTO Manuel A.J. Teehankee, Consul General Mark Francis C. Hamoy, and PITC Commercial Officer Althea Antonio.
Hotel101’s global vision is nothing short of ambitious: to operate one million hotel rooms across more than 100 countries. The company has already outlined its top 25 target markets, which include the Philippines, Japan, Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Mexico, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy, Germany, France, and Saudi Arabia.

Hotel101-Madrid is a significant step forward for this vision, signaling the start of a new era in hospitality for the Filipino-led brand on the world stage.
