For its local launch in the Philippines, special guests including known basketball and gaming personalities were invited to be among the first in the country to try NBA 2K23. The event was headlined by a special exhibition match between NBA 2K League 5v5 APAC Invitational champion Playbook Esports and NBA 2K League 3v3 APAC Invitational champion Laus Group Esports. Held at the NBA Store in SM Megamall, the venue also featured local basketball memorabilia including a charcoal drawing of “The Last Shot” by artist Christian Talampas that was signed by none other than six-time NBA World Champion and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan.
