Huawei has just launched the newest Super 5G phone, the Huawei Nova 7 5G. Equipped with an impressive 5 AI Camera set-up and powered by the latest Huawei 5G chipset, the Kirin 820 5G AI. The Huawei Nova 7 5G truly is an ultimate photography and entertainment smartphone. It is marketed as the first and ultimate 5G smartphone for the youth, providing the best & next-generation experience, where they can take advantage of the lag-free gaming & performance. Packing flagship-level features and performance, the Huawei Nova 7 has 5G capabilities and smart AppAssistant bringing customers the ultimate 5G experience. What would make the whole experience better is being able to get the apps you need and Huawei gives you just that with the Huawei AppGallery and the new Huawei Petal Search Widget.

So what is this Huawei Petal Search Widget? This is actually a new search tool and a Gateway to a million of apps. It allows Huawei smartphone users to search and find everything they need may it be Apps, news, images, and more! It's like your browser but with steroids and so much more. You even can do it directly from the home screen of your device by applying it to a widget. What's cool is it provides results from AppGallery and also from third-party websites making sure that you get the most updated version. In case you don’t know, Huawei AppGallery is the third largest app store in the world right now and continues to add new apps every week! On Petal Search, you can directly get apps from AppGallery, no need to switch apps. You can also see suggestions and information on trending apps.

So how do you use the Huawei Petal Search Widget? Easy. All you have to do is type and search "Petal Search Widget" on AppGallery and it will be the top result there and then install. You can also install the Petal Search App as a widget right at the home screen to make it easier for you to get what you need. Here's how you do it:
I personally like using the Petal Search tool to get the apps I need and so much more! Now, if you're setting up your new Huawei Nova 7 5G, you can make use of the Petal Search tool to get the apps you need, but you can also use the Phone Clone app.
This one I love using every time I switch Huawei phones or from one smartphone to a Huawei device. It's super convenient and easy to use. The Phone Clone app is 'the' app you need to use to transfer your contacts, data, files, apps and photos from an old smartphone to your new Huawei smartphone device. Steps are super easy to follow and you'll be set up in no time.
Another is of course the Huawei AppGallery. The official app store by Huawei, it has around 420 million active users and it has a lot of rewards and cool features too! AppGallery is also beefed up with security features making sure that the apps you browse and download on your phone are safe. The AppGallery is also growing its list of apps with hundreds of new ones being added every week.

Now let me show you the apps I've been using during this 'new normal' for work and play.
For Games, Asphalt 9 delivers the high octane rush and satisfies my need for speed. I just love the different car selections, how I can customize the cars I unlock and improvements and of course beating others in the game. Garena FreeFire is a fun and exciting game that keeps me on my toes and gets my heart pumping. I usually play this as a team with friends and a couple of officemates during breaktime and most of the time, we’re getting the number 1 spot beating other teams. Another is Plants Vs. Zombies, it is a classic fun game that I get to play with my kid. Start them young right? Ha Ha! Well, definitely fun because I get to kill zombies and bond with my kid at the same time.

Photography Apps, Video players & Video Editors
Camera 360 - Now I may not use this as often but it's nice to have it ready. You'll never know when you'll need a smoother skin on photos. But you'll definitely love the different filters and stickers you can put on your photos. While there is a collage feature already included in the Gallery app of some Huawei phone, Photo Grid allows me put videos on a grid. nice feature and perfect for IG stories too! PicArts I use for other filters, use it to add texts on my photos and add really cool stickers/effects for my IG stories.

For media players
My go-to would be VLC. It's a multimedia player that plays most multimedia files. It also plays audio with equalizers and filters! What I like about this particular app is that it is FREE and has no ADS. MX player would be my 2nd option. I guess I just got used to VLC for so long that it's a default for me to gravitate that orange cone app. :) Haha! Anyways, for MX Player, is pretty cool also because there are a lot of setting there that are just so useful. Intuitive user controls and has amazing backgroud play and picture-in-picture mode.
For Banking and other finance apps: I often use GCash & PayMaya for my digital payments. I log in every day to GCash to earn myself some energy for my GCash Forest and of course, some cashback and rebates from PayMaya! Woot! Both of them also accept payments for other utilities and bills. I use the Unionbank & BDO mobile apps to helps me manage my finances and I can also pay some of my utilities there conveniently. Globe Rewards is just something I occasionally use to see the points I earned. Here I can also avail of some really cool offerings & free stuff from the app!
For entertainment, usable apps would be Netflix & Prime Video which is downloadable via Huawei Petal Search. Other fans of Kapamilya will be happy to know that they can also access iWant TV, iFlix and Viu for their Asian entertainment fix anytime right at the AppGallery. Spotify is another usable app I downloaded via the Huawei Petal Search. I use this app on a daily basis! Music I guess has always been a part of us.

Communication is key, and having these apps are also essential in getting our work and school work done. Coordination with family members & teammates couldn’t be more important during this time. Viber has been my main communication app for work & family-related concerns. WeChat has been an essential tool for my work clients as well. Other usable apps would be WhatsApp & Telegram which also functions well.

For Work, learning & productivity I use Microsoft Office for editing documents, inputting numbers on spreadsheets, and editing presentations this is the App for you. Another alternative is the WPS Office where you can also edit files similar to Microsoft Office. Easily you can edit a PDF, convert it to a .doc file sign a document, and export to PDF. It can also scan and do other things. CamScanner is for document scanning requirements. ZOOM is an app you can directly download from the website. Mostly used for team meetings, briefings, presentations & classes this app has been a major key in connecting people and businesses. Zoom is a usable app that the Huawei AppGallery & Huawei Petal Search can easily install on your phone with just a few taps.

For emails, No need to download other apps, users can just use the Huawei Email. Here you can set up and link your Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook Mail accounts in one app.
Other apps I regularly use are:
FoodPanda - For my snacks and food cravings.
Canva – This app I use when designing for my IG stories, this is also capable of the video collage. Sometimes I play around with the logo maker and play around with the different templates it has. Has some filters & really cool texts.
ShareIt – Well this one, we all know. Transferring huge files to other non-compatible devices who doesn’t have Huawei Share? This one is for you.
HereWeGo – Is an App I use to get around. An improved version of Maps that is visually refreshing and accurate.

Here are some other Top apps you can use on your Huawei device
Now, if there are still some apps here that are not yet on the AppGallery, you may find them via the Huawei Petal Search Widget which is "a gateway to a million of apps." If you have some concerns or would want to check updates, I suggest you head over to the Huawei Community where you can find answers and similar concerns. You can also call Huawei hotline or leave a message on their Facebook page.

Okay, let's start talking about the Huawei nova 7 5G starting with the phone's design.
Sleek Body and cutting edge design, the Huawei Nova 7 5G is truly a head-turner. They have a new manufacturing process that has two special colored films and 12-layers of nano-coating which is all stacked together to create a premium dazzling translucent effect with a depth illusion on the back. It's actually cool. Made with 3D curved glass, the Huawei Nova 7 5G boasts premium qualities in a compact body. Slim & light and weighs just 180g making it super comfortable to hold.

The Huawei Nova 7 5G comes in two stylish shades: Space Silver and Midsummer Purple - Nova limited editions with a recognizable signature Nova icon. I personally like Space Silver because it has the sunlight effect coming from the camera area. Different visuals in every lighting condition and still maintaining that premium feel.

Speaking of the camera at the back, the Huawei nova 7 5G has a 64MP Main Camera. Designed to provide quality images may it be outdoors or in a low-light setting, the Huawei nova 7 5G gives crisp and high-resolution images with defined details. In dark scenarios, the camera applies 4-in-1 pixel binning to increase the pixel size to capture more light. It also has an 8MP Telephoto lens to capture distant scenes and images.

The Super Night Mode gives users a chance to get quality shots without a tripod. The intelligence multi-frame compositions ensure that the bright parts are not overexposed. The Huawei nova 7 5G also supports DSLR-level BM3D image noise reduction, which further reduces the noise of photos taken in low-light settings.

8MP Telephoto Lens. The Huawei Nova 7 5G is capable of up to 5x hybrid zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. Powerful AI also works with the zoom lens to enhance sharpness and stability giving you clear long-rate shots. The Ultra Wide Angle lens and Macro Lens of the Huawei nova 7 5G is also something. It can accommodate a larger field of view at 120 degrees. If you’re into landscape shots, architecture, or group photos, you’ll love this one. The Macro lens can shoot up to 4cm up close too! The finer details can be shown may it be the icing on a cake or a very small detail of an accessory. You’ll definitely have fun exploring and taking photos.

Alright, to those who are aspiring Vloggers, Huawei’s 64MP Main Camera supports AIS when shooting 4K videos! Yes. 4K! The main camera has a very nice noise reduction feature for videos taken based on different scenes. Even in a low-light environment, you can record clear videos and crop details.

One cool feature on their shooting mode is the Dual-View Mode. Perfect for the aspiring vlogger, out there. The HUAWEI nova 7 5G supports DUAL-VIEW Video Mode where you can use the front and rear camera to capture 1080p Videos on both sides. You can also use the main camera, telephoto Lens, and Ultra-wide angle lens to record dual-view video on the rear side.

Moving on to the front, you can see that it sports a new FullView Display. It is a 6.53-inch, 2400 x 1080 pixels, FHD+ OLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and DCI-P3 color gamut. Now I know that there’s a lot of information there but it all matters and was designed to make the whole viewing & user experience better. The display has passed the TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display Certification for overall eye protection to deliver a more comfortable viewing experience.

Now if you remember how the back looks, it smooth right?, you can see that it doesn’t have any fingerprint scanner because instead of a rear finger-print design they have an In-screen fingerprint unlock solution.
The Huawei nova 7 5G also has an AOD support (Always On Display) where the screen shows the time, date, text, incoming calls, and other info without being woken.

Aside from the beautiful screen, you also can’t miss the punch hole camera. Don’t let that hole fool you. The front camera on the Huawei nova 7 5G is a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture that allows users 32MP HD selfie shooting. This one is with an AI beautification support which gives your selfies a depth effect blurring the background and also some special glares. The camera is also able to shoot 4K videos at 30fps and has an EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) while shooting.

Beauty Mode is also available when shooting videos at 1080p. The phone makes use of the powerful Kirin 985 5G Soc performance and NPU’s AI computing capabilities providing 10 levels of AI beautifications in real-time. Who would have thought we would need a night selfie right? Be apparently we do! The Huawei nova 7 5G has the Super Night Selfie 3.0 where it brightens the skin tone and optimizes skin texture with their Portrait Skin Optimization. Details in dark areas are also sharpened with less noise even under backlit conditions or strong lighting. One last thing that is nice attention to detail is the Glasses Reflection Elimination. Where Super Night Selfie 3.0 uses AI to automatically remove reflection and glare from the subject’s glasses, making selfies taken at night look more natural.

Oh, there’s also this cool circular flash that you can use when you press the shutter in a low-light setting. The circular flash surrounding the screen light up! No more dark selfies guys!
The Huawei nova 7 also has a high capacity battery with 4000mAh. One highlight here is that it supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge taking battery up by 75% in just 30 minutes! The fast charging technology is certified by TÜV Rheinland to ensure safe and fast charging. This will definitely satisfy your daily needs from video playback to gaming all day.

Alright, so we mentioned Kirin 985 5G SoC. What does it mean? Running on an octa-core CPU, this chipset offers flagship-level image processing and accommodates large 3D games giving high picture quality and smooth gameplay experience. It includes one large core (2.58GHz), three medium cores (2.4GHz), and four small cores (1.84GHz). There’s also the GPU and NPU AI Performance upgrade giving the Huawei nova 7 5G an advantage versus other phones in its category. The SoC uses Huawei-developed Kirin ISP 5.0 packing industry-leading BM3D (block-matching and 3D filtering image noise reductions and dual-domain video noise reductions technologies to make clearer night shooting possible.

The Huawei nova 7 5G has 8GB of RAM. Ready to handle the most demanding apps switches and multitasking needs. It also has 256 GB of storage giving you more space for your favorite apps, images, HD videos, and intensive games.

Aside from specs & numbers, there are also some features that set the Huawei brand apparat from everyone else. Huawei nova 7 5G has and Upgraded AppAssistant. Floating Window is a new game assistant that supports in-game window. which allows the user to send messages to friends while playing games. The user can also browse social media when waiting. Smart brightness lock allows users to lock-in the brightness to avoid dimming and flickering caused by the light sensor. This feature ensures you better gaming and comfortable viewing experience. Uses can just switch this one

Another feature from Huawei smartphones that I like is MeeTime. Getting high-quality communication with friends & family members between Huawei devices has greatly improved. The meantime App supports 1080p FHD video calling. It uses Huawei facial recognition technology to optimize picture quality even on low light performance. Even when the signal is bad, Huawei MeeTime compensates for the lower image quality with its Super Resolution algorithm also adjusting the bandwidth consumption maintaining that smooth FHD experience. Also, users can also share their active screens during video calls. Screen Sharing supports live mark-ups which lets users interact with each other will discussing the matter at hand. Such a really cool experience I tell you.
Staying Connected on 5G
The 5G modem is integrated into the Kirin 985 5G SoC to support faster, smarter and a more stable 5G connectivity. In terms of speed, the Kirin 985 5G supports 5G speeds rivalling other flagship smartphones. During a series of tests at Huawei Lens, a 2GB game file requires less than one minute to download on a 5G network. How’s that for fast?!

Optimized for stability, the Kirin 985 5G can re-connect to 5G networks quickly where ever you may be coming from. Latency and stability are improved even when moving at high speed or driving. Power is efficient and heat emissions are also improved because the modem is already integrated.

Kirin 985 5G supports 5G Dual SIM. So that means that the Huawei nova 7 5G can browse the internet on a 5G NSA network while taking a 4G VoLTE call using a separate SIM card. Of course, there’s a smart SIM Switching technology happening here. Smart that when the primary SIM card isn’t getting a good signal, the device will automatically switch to a secondary SIM card to ensure smooth user experience.
Advantages of having a 5G smartphone.
5G is inevitable. It is coming whether we like it or not. In fact it is closer that we think. Others say that the 2nd half of the year (2020) things will start moving towards 5G. Huawei nova 7 5G has the Kirin 985 5G to deliver the highest speed once connected to a 5G network. Also, You don’t need to change number or SIM card to upgrade to 5G. But you do need to upgrade to a 5G enabled-smartphone of course.
